Is anyone totally convinced that grayson's signing will work and what makes them believe he will get most of them right. There alot of positions that need to be filled, at least 5 first team places, (keeper, LB,CB, two CM) Were going to have to improve the side just to stay still, by the look of the strength of the league. Am not saying he won't get it right, its just abit worrying, think morale is low from supporters and a cracking signing is needed.
completely agree...it is disconcerting when other teams in our league are going out and getting players in..some signings of a good calibre would be a welcome relief
Bang on LIW Im sick of being let down by the lack of signings, and Im sorry but I dont believe this rubbish about deals falling through and people not been available if Grayson wants someone he should be able to get them!!!! Im not getting my hopes up anymore Feels like a proper relationship haha
Morning LIW. Technically the transfer window hasn't actually opened yet. So there's plenty of time for SG to surprise us all. But I agree we need signings. Not sure I agree how many we need. But that's sermantics. We certainly now need a GK as well as a DM. These are the absolute basics. But as I say, there's still plenty of water to flow before the season gets started. So fingers crossed for a bumpy ride. Incidentally & as I said elsewhere, if Norwich make an improved offer, at what point does the club say £xm represents good business, even if SG is trying to build a side for the PL?
Technically the transfer window hasn't opened ? Yet we've sold our goalkeeper, and some champiionship clubs have already made half a dozen signings since the season ended ! And everyone has their price Boggers, but whatever you think of KB he's not that daft. Kasper is replaceable, we'd find it far more difficult to replace Snoddy or Max on our budget.
It's only June man! LIW, you said the other day that bringing in nobody is better than crap signings. Have you seen the free transfer list? Not many of them actually stand out as being really good signings, and the ones that do are going to Prem. clubs. I'll be worried if Grayson makes some poor signings, but he hasn't signed anyone yet. The players that have left - Higgs, Naylor, Johnson and Kilkenny - were average Championship/League One players. I'll judge their replacements once we've actually signed them. No point getting annoyed when half the players are still on their summer holidays.
Best Read the full thread. Seriously am not fussed about when we sign people but who. And my main point is grayson hasnt a good record of signing players, and the players we are being linked with isnt flattering. Do you trust him in the transfer market ????? and if so why
Wickersley/Best Fans, fair points. Looking forward to reading some positive news soon though. As you say Wickersley, the window might not yet be open but some clubs have been very busy already. Let's hope we get some good signings that work this year, rather than a load of Bessone!!
its more bates i dont trust, imagine the you being a player with your agent sat in front off bates trying to negotiate a contract!
I don't trust Grayson in the transfer market, but I'll judge the players he signs once I've seen them play a few games. Some of the players we've been linked to are good - Jack Cork, Alex Smithies - but I do see your point. Last summer, we didn't make a single signing that you could at this point say was successful, but wait to see who he brings in first.
A lot of people who were staunch bates/grayson supporters are having their heads turned at the moment. I think the point in this is morale is low in the supporters and I think it is. We need a lot of work on our squad and the 2 bit players we are being linked with are below par to what we need. Iâm worried and Iâm not bothered about saying it. I just hope something good does happen to bring our spirits back up. I donât think this Kasper situation has been played well. Its all well and good saying an offer has been accepted (but the deal hasnât) this means they could accept higher bids does it not? But I donât think it should have been put into the public domain as I think that was the main catalyst of people losing the faith.
Paggs The offer has been accepted, why would anyone bid any more, they would just match the offer surely. I want gravy
Accepted but deal not done. its opening it up to people to know that he is available and if they want him then they can have him if you get me. That’s all I was thinking. BIDDING WARS And **** off about gravy.
Price has been set but for another club to have any chance of sabotaging that deal then they will have to pay more Im with pags
kissa why would they have to pay more. If they have accepted say A £1m from leicester, why wouldnt they accept the same from anyone else. You dont begin a bidding war by accepting a offer ????. Any club would be mad to bid more than a accepted offer
Thanks YNBK, you just put it better than I did That’s what I was trying to put forward but I couldn’t get the right words out. Don’t forget there are rumours of 1 million or 1.5 million…so say if Kasper isn’t quite happy with the contract and someone comes in with say a 2m deal and a better offer for him? you get me?
But why would a club offer more to Leeds, when a price as already agreed with another club. They would just offer the same. Explain why any club would pay more than what has already been accepted, they wouldnt
Its still early days yet, no big guns are moving about. I think we need a right back too as connolly is poor, slow and takes the first half getting forward, cant kick a ball up the line without it going out either
Bates and Grayson both want the same thing for different reasons. Bates wants to make as much money as he can and that will come when he sells the club. He can't sell the club until it either is in the Premier or well on the way. This means he needs success on the pitch both for keeping the fans happy and spending at the club and to achieve the "big sell" Grayson wants success because he is the same as all managers. I think he is passionate about the club and will give it all his efforts. Whether he has the talent remains to be seen. He has had a full first season in the Championship with some measure of achievement and will be better for that experience. He will obviously be limited in what he wants by resources provided by KB. The next 3 months will show how much both are intent on getting what they want but they are both wanting sucess. I think next season will be harder than last season. A good dozen clubs all have the same ambition and some have more resources than others given the parachute payments and the cash happy owners. We have the passionate fans who long for a return to the Premier heres hoping that we all get what we want this season.
