    SO.....

When the renewal packs get sent out word gets around with mates etc you don't have to do anything to renew, you just leave it. So a mate of mine didn't bother opening the pack (Big Error i know) thinking it would renew.

He went down to ticket office today as he wanted to know about the seat next to him if it had been took, for his old man. Anyway they said his is not being renewed. He said why and in 6 years of him having his season ticket he missed the last payment in December, his bank account was frozen due to potential fraud, some twat in Nigeria trying to take money. So after a couple of days they sorted it out and he rang and paid his DD to the stadium, by the way he had to do this with mortgage, car finance and everything else which proved no problem.

So the Stadium has decided he has a poor payment record and wont renew it monthly, and now that the DD has passed he would have to pay this as a one off.

So in 6 years one payment has missed and was paid within 2 days and they think he is a bad payer. The lad in the ticket office spoke to him like dirt and he had to leave otherwise he would of kicked off, the lads comments when he walked away from the glass was 'yeh that's it, walk away when im talking to you' and i was there when he rang and spoke to the manager and pretty much no good. He didnt try to understand it was pretty much a like it or lump it.

So now they will be losing a season ticket holder. Yes he should of opened his pack and saw his wasn't being renewed but surely they would want to welcome a renewal, especially those who have been here for 6 years.

Any suggestions from anyone? Cant believe they have done this to him like.

Financial companies comply with regulations, but it seems football clubs can do what they like and get away with it

Facebook it - publicise the ticket offices **** customer service. Offer proof frop,m the bank that the reasons for the missed payment were not of his own doing (account frozen due to the issues) - written formal letter of complaint.

Every time with any company I have issues like this I give them a written formal complaint letter and, if they treat me like **** and do nothing about it I put it all over twitter and facebook and it's normally sorted in days. If you keep the letter private and to the company they normally aren't as bothered - but when it impacts the organisation on a public forum seen by millions (or more) then they act quickly

I dont understand this at all, my bro-in-law cancelled his direct debit for the final payment and paid cash for the final payment, much the same as your mate. He just had to fill in a new mandate, no issues whatsoever, i agree with marcus, gather evidence and email the club and threaten to go to the echo etc.

I also cancelled my d/d year before last as I simply didnt have the money, i paid up after I was paid in the January and I have had no problems with renewing twice since by d/d.

I would be happy to be used as an example as would my bro-in-law (i'd have to ask him like), there are loads of people who for one reason or another cancel the final december payment, there are threads on smb every year.

Sounds to me like he's unfortunately found a jobsworth behind the glass and I doubt it was a manager he spoke to.

I'd be tempted to go back over the ticket office but go round the back and speak to somebody in there

I would send a letter to Ellis Short, all the directors and anyone else in authority at the club. Give them all the facts and circumstances of what happened, and then threaten to contact the Echo and other local media outlets if it didn't get sorted out quickly..

    It wasn't me mate honest.

I had 2 tickets for my son and myself in the Premier Concourse for a few years, then decided I would upgrade to Quinns Bar, they come under corporate. I told the ticket office of my plans so they cancelled my Concourse tickets and I took two new Quinns Bar tickets out. Earlier this season they sent me and my son free tickets to go see the Arsenal match as a gesture of good will cos they were sorry to lose me as a customer.

Just goes to show that one department doesn't know what the other is doing. Your mates dilemma doesn't surprise me at all, but you'd think they'd be glad of his money?
