It seems that Stewart has got rid of his Twitter account due to the amount of insulting tweets posted by City fans, I didn't attend the game today but from what i've heard and seen over the last 2 months his performance is pretty lackluster, but that doesn't give City fans the right to insult him, he's a 20 year old lad and he doesn't deserve the sort of **** he's been giving recently, his confidence has got to have taken a massive hit after this fiasco and I would be sad to see him leave in the summer (which will happen if he doesn't get the support him and the ENTIRE team deserve).
I know I amongst others have criticised him on here which is fair enough as it is a discussion board for fans however I have twitter and would never slag a player off on it and I hate the fact that other people do and its a shame that he has deleted his account. When I have looked on his account there seems to be just as many people giving him encouragement as giving him grief and maybe he should just look upon them as a bunch of idiots and a minority to be ignored. All the same he does seem to be his own worst enemy cos there is no getting away from it he just looks lazy and if he is taking the criticism to heart then he should be putting more effort in to prove everyone wrong.
he's seen everyones positive tweets and he's back on Twitter now, also, there is a fine line between criticism and blatant abuse, everyone is open to criticism, but he shouldn't be abused
Criticism is fine, and he deserves it. At the moment he is playing awful. But abuse he does not deserve, and it is cowardly to give it when hiding behind a keyboard.
I'd love it if we all just started getting behind him constantly now. We haven't had a player since Campbell wh the fans have really sung about for long periods. Every time that lad touched the ball he got his chant sung even if he ****ed it up. Today we only sang the Koren, Mannone and Fryatt songs once each and only when they made significant contributions. I just can't see why fans aren't interested in backing individual players any more.
I'm trying to work out which is the most remedial way of acting. Being the cowardly keyboard warrior giving abuse knowing they can't be confronted, or being a middleaged man squaring up to players in a train station. http://thisismyengland.blogspot.com/2012/03/disgraceful-scenes.html
The same people who are abusing him will start whining when he leaves to go to Leicester or wherever. Some people are just ****s.
I really would love to talk to someone who has posted the abuse and ask them what exactly they hope to achieve by it. Is he going to think "Hmmm, someone I have never met with a keyboard has criticised my recent performances. That's it, I'm really going to try hard now."
It's one of the problems with being able to contact people directly, particularly when passions are running high immediately after a game, venting your spleen at a player who had a bad game can only make the situation worse. There's also a great many thick twats on there, some of the stuff posted is unbelievable, I've already tracked down one racist from Peterborough who was abusing Mclean(who was also forced to shut his twitter account for a while) and I tend to challenge people who post abuse directly at the players. Still, it's not as bad as the stuff some people have to tolerate, you wouldn't believe the stuff tweeted at Katie Price. She get's stuff like 'I'm going to find you and slash your **** with a razor blade' and she gets it regularly, I know she's an annoying tart, but nobody should have to tolerate that sort of nonsense.
I read yesterday Collymore referred somebody to the police over tweets and it turned out it was a uni student doing it, once people realise that they can be tracked and prosecuted then hopefully all this abuse will die out, it's just inadequates who wouldn't say boo to a goose in real life most of the time I reckon.
Sounds like Mcean's not overly impressed either.. Aaron Mclean ‏ @A9Mac @AKWhitlam mate sum ppl ain't got nothing better to do. Where here to interact wiv fans not listen to abuse. Dats y some lads stay off!
Twitter, Facebook and YouTube are ridled with vile comments from who think they're safe saying it behind a computer screen, and as you say its probably done by people who wouldn't dare say it in real life.
It's a good job he doesn't post on here. He'd be labelled a remedial and torn to shreds for that spelling, grammar and text speak. Where here?!
"I know I amongst others have criticised him on here which is fair enough as it is a discussion board for fans" Fair enough? Do you think players don't read the message boards and even if they don't, do you not think this negativity takes root and creates hostility towards our players?
I think those of you who are on Twitter should let @callum_clark87 know what you think of him... @callum_clark87: "@Cameron7Stewart **** off to #Leicester you look dis-interested, you obviously can't be arsed so do us all a favour #onetrickpony" @Greg_Whitaker: "2 points thrown away, @Cameron7Stewart just terrible! #ByeByePlayOffs"
