    Sources close to Campbell

    Here we go again!!!

Sources close to Campbell have also told the Mail he is, as yet, unconvinced that a drop back into the Championship – even on a short-term loan – would be beneficial to his career.

Represented by his father Keith, who negotiated with City previously when his son opted in favour of Sunderland, Campbell is out of contract in the summer.

With that in mind, he may prefer to see out the remainder of his deal before considering his options, and keep open the possibility of joining another Premier League club, in the summer.

His dad is deluded to the possibilities. Bad influence. He's still young so he should be going to a Club where he would play week in, week out rather than benchwarming for some mediocre Premier League side. He has plenty of time to get himself back in the EPL with either us/another Club he joins or an established EPL side a few years down the line. What's the point in letting talent rot away on the bench...

His dad's actually preventing him from bettering his game.

Sounding like deadline day brinkmanship already. If targets not willing to move in first week of window then ditch them in favour of someone hungry to move early. That way we get another 4 games and potential 12 points out of them.

Injuries not withstanding, he potentially could have done really well with us, but he chose Sunderland, and his career has stagnated. He probably made the right decision at the time, however much his dad was a cock, but he needs to get over himself now and get some games in.

Any messing around and I think SB will move on. He will have other targets in mind and will move quickly in the window to get the players we need

    This is what concerns me.

He managed to derail our aims back in the day, we MUST not allow lightning to hit twice, there is far more at stake this time.

Make him an offer, set a deadline, if he "Umms and Ahhs" pull the plug and move on to plan "B".

Plan 'B': mow Keith Campbell down with a bus and revert to plan A.

Can we use the tiger bus, for added irony?

In my view FC was wrong in the first place to have his Dad look after his affairs, as he feel he has to tow the line with his Dad or there would be bad feeling if he didn't. If they are starting again with this sort of negative talk, then better look elsewhere, as like before he could keep the interest going until near the end of the window and final end up somewhere else, and we will be left in the lurch.

Actually he did well at Sunderland and got an England cap because of his good form up there. His career has gone down the ****ter because of his lengthy injury he's sustained.

If this indeed the case again. I have every faith that SB and the Allams are savvy enough to let him rot on Sunderland's bench.

He isn't injured now and he is stagnating on the bench. We all know how well he did before even if the England cap after a few matches in the first team was stupid, but right now, his career looks dead at Sunderland.

Here Here to your first 2 lines. But i dont want City to offer him anything other than a :emoticon-0172-mooni :emoticon-0173-middl

Yes hopefully. Pull all the stops out to get Chris Wood in. Even if we have to pay £2m. It will be worth it in the end. <ok>

Victor Anichebe would be a better call IMO. He's only made 2 starts for the Toffees this season and scored 2 goals. 6'3 and a reyt handful for defenders....perfect.

SB will have a list, don't forget most clubs in the championship will be going after a striker, nearly every other teams forum you look at say they need a new striker so competition is going to be massive and lets not forget you could have someone lined up but if a lower premier league club come then he wil go to them

Absolutely agree. Thought of him a while ago when it was plain the Kraut wouldn't cut the mustard!

Give this man a Gold Medal. Great call is V.A. and very much a Jason Roberts stype player. Big and strong as an ox. But i think some PL strugglers will be after him if Moyes lets him go.

Give him a chance ffs. Far too early to right him off yet.

Personally I can't see him coming to us unless Bruce is able to make him see things from a different perspective to his dad. I think if he did come back and played like he did for us last time it just might re-launch his career and this is what he should be considering. All depends on who else wants him really but I agree that we should not concentrate solely on him, need to pursue other targets.

Anichebe would be a great signing but I think he is more likely to get another prem club than Campbell (should he be available)
