I'd love to see a new badge, but only if it is designed properly. The badge on that article is ****ing awful.

I like our badge as it is. The robin design looks awful and half assed. Out of date now, Stick with what we have

I quite like the idea of a muscular Robin like the one Banksy used to have.

The management have taken us back to days gone by so perhaps the old robin badge would sum up our sad plight. NBW!

Used to sell badges t shirts match days. Problem with the crest is it makes bits hard to sell its unpopular as its harder to shift v the robin. Club would make money by using the robin more and the crest less. The angry robin up top didn't happen by accident.

Bristol has some world-class designers, so I'm sure we could get a badge commissioned for the club.

I saw this on Reddit a few weeks ago. Some guy has redesigned a ton of club badges and they look absolutely fantastic. I'd love to see what he'd do with the Bristol City badge.

I guess the club has to look at how to market the club better to increase their income. Cardiff are a good example that new owners came in and straight away decided to change teh clubs colour to red and change their badge from a bird to a dragon as they thought that would help them in the market in Asia where the money is.

Liverpool again, everyone knows the Liverbird on their badge or Man Utd with a Red devil.

We as a club are still referred to as the Robins (as well as cider heads), and have a mascot on match day dressed as a robin yet we use the Bristol coats of arms which isnt as marketable.

To be fair, Cardiff have lost more money this season than they did before, and they haven't earned much more. The promised "Asia money" hasn't really happened yet, and a lot of people don't think it'll happen during their time in the Premier League. If they missed out on promotion then this season would be a HUGE failure for them.

Marketing can only go so far for us. A new badge and a decent kit would do wonders for us, but the most marketable thing that could happen to us is a new stadium in Ashton Vale.

Then the club should start using the robin more to increase income. Any bloke selling bits at play offs and around pubs Tec will tell you the robin sells the crest does. Doesn't need a 're-brand just more thought how are fans getting things into shops pubs even art galleries when city can't get themselves seen. Answer is the club are not street savvy.

I would use the Robin to increase commercial opportunities and the reach of the club. How does the crest do this? Its reach is clearly limited.

The crests USP? It does not have one.

The Robin clearly can be used for niche marketing i.e sections of support.

The crest is being rejected by a significant proportion of the fan base v the ideas of fans. This IS losing the club money as fans shun official club merchandise for their own. Why is that occuring? Is it because the crest is out of date, or is it stigmatised by its connection with BRFC and others?

Several years ago Kevin Smith made wordy statements expressing a wish to broaden reach etc. Using the nouse of support, and employing the Robin as a broader marketing tool that could change a little.

Also I remember as a child being asked to draw the City badge. I didnt need to look at it to be able to draw a robin, ball and the suspension bridge as everyone knew the badge at that time.

Would the same happen now? probably not as how many of us fan could draw the current badge without having a look first.

I have a background of employment which has needed drawing skills. That is a drawback of the crest. It is inflexible.

The crests attraction to kids V a Robin, Scrumpy or Ernie?

The crest is about other things, and other sporting clubs as well as Bristol City. Apart from stuffy conservative reasons I can,t see any benefits for it's use v the club's nickname and a Robin. City are synonymous with the name and image, and it is clear fans will continue this.

I like the crest and the Robin, but think I prefer the crest on the shirts and use the Robin for other items, a dual identity?

Maybe Robin Away, crest home or vice versa..

What I don't buy is the 'majority' of fans want the crest gone..!! Cos of all the people I speak to it seems a minority to me.. I have the crest as a tattoo so would not like to lose that identity completely.

Put a poll up shiny, I would be interested to see the results..
