Well the usual first game defeat....disappointing....but Cambridge have waited nine years for this moment....so where more up for it than we seemed to be. Having not yet seen a video of the match I can only comment on what I've read. Quite a few comments about John Sheridan's post match interview, most not too supportive on how he saw it. He said that he felt comfortable during the match, it was noticed how he seemed to be casually leaning against the dug-out....not very animated at anytime however the match was going. It was suggested that he was short of ideas when we went 1-0 down and there was comments about who he brought on and how late it was with some of his choices. When trailing there wasn't enough pressure to get an equalizer and it was suggested that Cambridge looked too comfortable, was there a plan B....some didn't think so. The usual comment about,...do we actually practise taking corners...because nothing has improved since last season in that department....although we had six new players involved it didn't improve. We seemed to be losing the mid-field battle still....needs working on and very quickly. Questions regarding who should be playing left-back.....McHugh didn't seem to be enjoying it at all....and it's suggested that he would be more comfortable as a central defender. McCormack played well and kept the score down to one and was voted Argyle's man of the match....suggesting to me that Sheridan's view of the match was seen through green tinted glasses. Reid was the other player that deserved a mention......if the mid-field can sort themselves out and give him the service he needs...then goals might get scored in the right end. A work in progress and training ground time needed to change things around, maybe try something different against Orient on Tuesday,we're not expecting to win. What is important is the Exeter game on Saturday...we must do well, because we will be under pressure to deliver,another defeat could be hard to take and set the tone for the rest of the season.
I haven't read much or seen anything on this one either Plym. Point is we lost and no matter how well we did or didn't play still ends in the same thing. No points after one game which is getting to be a bit normal. The players for Cambridge haven't waited for 9 years as they are mostly newbies I suspect. They simply wanted it more without the excuses for our players. I did read the Sheridan interview on the beeb site earlier and he was once more blaming the players in public for doing silly mistakes and he can't understand why they do. He tells them constantly apparently but they still do it. I am begining to get a little fed up with the same old excuse from him. He is the Manager and he takes the training. If he can't get the message across and for it to stick then either he hasn't got the right players in or he isn't very good at training them. Either way it's down to him. The suporters need the result against Exeter. Especially after last season's cave in and p*** poor effort at home. Truth is it will neither make nor break the season for the club so that isn't the importance but the effort put in for the supporters is. It will be the first time I've seen most of them so I will let you know my opinion after the event.
I meant Cambridge the club have been waitiing nine years sensible....and that would have been infectious and fired up newbies......disappointing that we couldn't raise our game when going behind....where is plan B.....I don't see any sign of us ever having one under Sheridan.....when we go behind it is very rare that we come back to get a point or a win.....just something lacking......the same last year with different players....so it isn't always the players fault.....so is it the coaching and planning ?
I realise you meant the club Plym but it is the players who make something happen not the club itself was the point I was making. 9 years or 90 doesn't account for our lot caving in. It's too cushy for Sheridan. There isn't a lot of chance that Brent will sack him and if he did it would have to be at the 12th hour. I don't like Managers who constantly blame others. It is his training, his tactics and now his players as he chose virtually all of them. I'm not about to go into relegation doom mode quite yet as no doubt our ATD friends are delighting in doing. It's one game but it is a continuation of the same results and the same excuses as we left off last term. If we seriously are going to have a go at it this term then Sheridan needs to do something about that and quickly.
I have him on ignore Joe but was curious to see what you had responded to. I would suggest you put him on ignore as well. Would point out though that he can't even get this insult right. I'm not actually banned from ATD at all. I choose not to be a member is the fact he is missing. That is ATD the place where apparently you can say what you like but unlike pasoti you don't get banned for doing it. They advertise that as an attraction and here you have the real thing that happens which is people do get banned and those that won't agree with the libellous statements made and say so are wished banned. Bit priceless really. He is only on this site to be a pain the the arris if he can. He has no interest in this site whatsoever. He only came here because he was ashamed of his actions in the Mod room on there and he ran away rather than face the other members at the time. Typical little man syndrome who hides behind his keyboard. He isn't worth the effort.
It might be due to the fact that I am just a mere female who knows nothing about football but to me the only difference between ATD and Pasoti is the name ! Both seem to attack posters who don't tow the party line .... this site might be small and only have a handful of posters posting but this is truly the only site where nobody gets banned unless its our stalker who hates Argyle and you can say exactly what you think .... you might not like the comments but you respect them
I tried pointing out that there wasn't much difference between those two despite the protests but having dared you get the mob mentality I'm afraid. You are right though, this site is far more democratic than either of those two even if it is small. Good things come in small packages so my Dad told me. As said, he is only here on a wind up mission because he is a sad little man as can be seen by his ravings on the other site. Sad thing is he thinks he is an Argyle oracle and over there they all know better than anyone else. The most common theme is "if they had only listened to me then Argyle would be different now". That's from most of the posters who bother. They also are'nt a large site despite the membership. Only a fraction post anything whereas all of our members contribute.
Ok gents lets have a go at outing a troll then. For some others who will not know this hairyj is the user name of somebody else who once posted on ATD before they re-wrote history and banned him. As everyone on ATD and one or two others would know hairyj is my son. Now the thing is, this one isn't my son and is quite clearly on here as a wind up. There would be no other reason to use that user name. So my question is which one of the ATD mob is it? Something else to add. The wind up is also clearly a go at me personally. Now none of the other users of this site apart from one have had anything to do with ATD previously so the question I would ask is why the attempt to spoil their site out of some spite? Is it that boring over there?

Yes this site is a happy one, until such Morons appear now and again, by what Sensible has wrote you are another one.. I have never been on the ADT site as i have read reports from others on here.. This site is not like that in one bit, but we stick together as there is only a few and when a new one comes along we get suspicious as of the previous Morons who try and upset the site.. so best you go back and play with on ADT before you get banned..
