He's a right back, which makes the Rod Fanni rumour seem strange.

Pablo Alvarez can play left back swell. Im sure Nigel won't sign him purely off Cambiasso's recommendation anyway. Aslong as it is a recommendation and not a demand. If its a demand I would pull the plug on the Cambiasso deal and I reckon Nigel would

Bringing in two Argentinians in a double deal is, as history shows, tantamount to footballing suicide ... who can forget the embarassing experiment that saw Ardilles and Villa going to Spurs? ... or the cringeworthy stunt that took Tevez and Mascherano to West Ham? ... make sure you don't get duped Nige <whistle> ...

... commercially it would be far better to raid the lower leagues to sign someone with an impressive name ... something like Gert Amonstadongalongathanaconga .... think of the club shop profits on named shirts!

I think most of these rumours are probably bogus, and the only thing you can say for the Cambiasso deal is that no one else has signed him, so we're in with a chance. Any other rumours are just **** in my opinion. Nigel won't give anything away about Cambiasso- he'll either sign or he won't. However, I am pleased that our transfer activity seems to have picked up, even if most of these stories are just due to Nigel's quote that he wants to 'bring one or two in.'

Bogus is good but I don't think he will be coming ... Fanni is also in doubt now due to the Cambiasso latest https://www.clubcall.com/leicester-city/cambiasso-close-as-foxes-put-fanni-on-hold-1736876.html

Cambiasso is apparently coming in as a coach as well so this might have merit as his opinion would be worth more.

@StringerSport: Nigel Pearson confirmed there has been ‘no progress’ on the Cambiasso deal but he remains hopeful of a deal #LCFC

Time to set him a deadline to sign or move on now

Hopefully if its not done by the weekend, we move on to other targets.

We're so short of players all over and we need one or two real quality defensive players.

We all want it done yesterday, but agree with Fosse, would be worth waiting for. Wouldnt mind a sneaky bid for Scott Sinclair in the meantime though.

And then he turns around and says no on deadline day?

Leaving us in the **** and making panic buys or sticking with what we have.

We cant afford to let anyone hold us to ransom

I think we already are being held to random.
Im sure they are looking at alternatives as well but i am surprised that Pearson has let it drag in so long. Normally he would have pulled the plug by now as he only wants players that WANT to play for the club..... Still this is Cambiasso we are trying to get not junior Lewis.
I wouldnt mind getting Holtby in. Apparently he is available

Pearson is no mug and won't be mucked about by anyone ... I trust his judgement in this - he'll only be hanging in there if he feels there is a good chance of concluding satisfactorily and that any hold-up are just part and parcel of normal negotiations ... this is a huge deal for us guys ... Cambiasso may be 'mature. but as a name is light years beyond anyone we have been linked with since my school boy trial back in 1973 ... much rather be patient and have this come off rather than rush in to purchasing some overrated fanni etc ...

If Cambiasso pisses us around I would go in for Scott Parker from Fulham. Experienced player and a proper professional
