93 day loan to Leeds confirmed. Played his last game for the club, ultimately a disappointing player but at £300k we've signed a lot worse for a lot more and been entertained far less by many other players. Glad he's gone but glad he was here at the same time. Thoughts?
He was part of the Man United group that revolutionised us from the stumbling, old team of Premier League has-beens, into the young energetic and enthusiastic promotion-chasers, so I will always be happy we had him. A pity it didn't work out as he looked the most promising of the bunch, but that's the way it goes, and all the best to him.
****ing rubbish. Should have sent him there on a free but with a big sell on clause. Whoevers doing thebtransfers needs to take a long hard look at themselves.
His best game....away at Bramall Lane...the 3-2 win where he laid 2 goals on for Jay Simpson and Bullard scored the winner with a minute to go....that was a good day. His first game back from injury against Derby away was also a highlight...it all went downhill from there. Good luck to him.
On 2nd thoughts it will be a 93 day loan because as Ricardo says he's played for us and Charlton. Seems a bit strange to do now wont he miss the end of the season or the playoffs?
He had some explosive moments and troubled defenders with his pace but the injury affected him. The irony is he may re-establish himself at Leeds
Who's to say he has, though? We could have an injury crisis. Also, that loan should JUST end in time for the FA Cup semis...
I think Cameron Stewart's performances for City were overrated by many - he was undoubtedly talented and was very quick but he rarely cashed in on his attributes. He had one or two excellent games, showed short flashes of great promise in a few others but, in the majority of his appearances, his contribution was disappointing. If he gets his act together he could still turn out to be a brilliant acquisition for Leeds but I think he's had more than enough chances to develop as a player here and it really is time he moved on.
I do worry that he could still come good and a sell-on wouldve been a good safety net, however at the end of the day I'd sum Cam up as this: Technically and physically he's got all the tools but he only shows them when things are going well. He's literally the last person who was in our squad who I would want to dig us out of a hole in a tough away match on a freezing cold, ****ty pitch in Feb. The archetypal fair-weather player.
Leeds statement -"Cameron has joined on an initial loan deal, but has also signed a three–year contract, which will become effective from the summer.2
So - what is the deal then, Bob? Apart from the 93-day Emergency Loan, that is. Come on, don't be coy now.....
Just out of interest, isnt this precisely what we were told about Hobbs to Forest but then it turns out we think we can recall him if someone offers to buy him outright now?
As it mentions above, he's signed a three year deal for Leeds. At the point that commences, he is out of contract with us. The only way we get anything from him is if we got a loan fee. It doesn't appear to be a great piece of business withoit knowing any further details.
But the two-club rule means he can't stay with them beyond early April. I know that in reality he clearly HAS played his last game for the club and I was just kidding - but in theory if needed we could use him in the last month of the season. We're the only club he could play for in that period.
Hobbs can be sold to another club, Stewart can't, as ge can only go out on emergency loan(unless we could have sold him to Charlton).
Waste of space in the end sadly. Glad he is off the wage bill and i bet we have got a loan fee for him at least. If we can get our fee back then fine but glad he has gone. A wasted talent sadly.
He only played for us in the COC so the 2 club rule should not apply in this case imo. Another stupid rule from the powers that be.
They have to get in the playoffs first, games like Sheffield Wednesday this weekend are must wins if they want to have that problem in 94 days time.
It's a competitive first team game, it counts towards the 2 club rule. Otherwise they'd just have had him on a half season loan.
