Is there any reason this can't go in the 'Official Transfer Rumour Thread'?

Carrabuh - perhaps my attempt at humour did not do it for you, but as a fellow Canary fan I would have expected some tolerance - clearly not your strong hand.

a player who is nowhere near as bad as some would have you believe, but equally a player who isn't going to score many goals for us. a useful player but by no means the answer to our problems

CitySlicker, if you regard that as a carrabuh put down, all I can say is you've not kept up with his posts!

It was a put down of Carlton Cole, ie I'd rather "bin" the rumour. Not a reflection of the article.

Not on tonight's evidence so far. Not enough work being put in.

Edit - oh gods, definitely not. Seems to prefer strolling around waiting for a pass. Can't be bothered to run 5 yards to make a tackle or chase a "lost cause". Ok we're spoiled rotten with Holt's workrate but Cole tonight makes Morison look postively hyperactive.
If he ever did have it then he's past it now.

Edit 2- completely unrelated but, while I am stuck watching Man U's training session against Wet Sham, what exactly are Andy Townsend's qualifications for being ITV's ever-present, ever-banal, ever-top-table-team-fawning, no.1 co-commentator?
Ok' he was good value for his couple of seasons at Norwich, but does one league cup and two appearances at World Cups for the "anyone who's ever visited this country is eligible" team make you a football guru?

I know a lot of people don't like him, but I actually think Andy Townsend is one of the better tv pundits - he's certainly better than the majority of what the beeb has to offer.

Townsend is one of the ones notorious for proclaiming players can do certain things when they really can't.

As with Cole, I cringe at the possibility of having Allardyce's cast offs.

What is it, 7 years between them and from this match's performances I'd still prefer us pay to money for Giggs rather than Carlton Cole.

On last night's game, did anyone think like me that the ref got the penalty's the wrong way round. Raphael does an impression of dancing to Staus Quo and handles but nowt but slight contact at the other end and it was. Justice done when Rooney missed (then blamed it on the penalty spot!)
