Now I know Im setting myself up to be shot at as I neither attended or watched the game today due to prior engagements but from what I've read from both the BBC, here and various other sites it seems that the voices are either predicting doomsday or are along the lines of this post here.

To be honest we all knew as soon as we saw the starting line-up that we'd be in for a tough 90 minutes. I shared the same jaw dropping experience as you all did when I saw that Agyemang was starting yet again along with Perone as well as our squad depth being exposed to full extent when Harriman was required to replace Hall not to mention having 4 CB's across the back line against a team who uses the flanks as their main outlet of attack. All in all, a tough match was expected and as all have agreed we were very unlucky. Woodwork 3 times, penalty shout, 2 deflected goals adding to our dismembered squad.

So now to put the question to all the doom and gloomers. Had their 2 goals, heck only one of their goals continued on their original path and Adel had directed his shot a few inches to the right claiming an a draw would you still be up in arms.

Remember that last week we only had two shots in the entire match and were quite frankly fortunate that Everton were so wasteful yet we came away with three points and "the performance of a life time" as some put it.

Yet this week on a day we created much more in front of goal and were unfortunate with both goals we conceded we're relegation fodder all over again.

Remeber what Warnock said only 24 hours ago. "Our season really starts on Sept 12th."

Oh...and in case you missed it. We signed another England international only a few hours ago.

Very good article. I agree there's been quite an over-reaction on here.

    Fair points.

Deserved to lose against Everton on the face of things and won. Deserved something from this and got nothing. There'll be plenty more games like these this season. Onwards and upwards(even sideways will do me).

I really can't see why some people are going mad about this result. Yeah it's always a disappointment when we lose and I'd be completely resigned to us being relegated this season after today's performance, if it weren't for the fact that we now have different owners, we are buying quality players and it's only game 3!!!!

It wouldn't be like this if Warnock had had money from the time we were promoted, instead of having just 2 weeks to bring players in. I'm sure it will take another few games before the new players start to gel, it will take time for players like Adel, Faurlin and some of the others who might make it in this league to find their feet. But it's happening, so there is absolutely no reason to panic about what we've seen so far.

Some people I guess will never be happy and unfortunately haven't got a little more intelligence to see things for what they are, ie not good but about to change beyond recognition.

But there were still positives from today's game. Adel played with a maturity that we haven't seen before, passing intelligent balls and looking to make things happen with other players rather than trying to do it all himself. Perone looks strong and composed. Harriman looked good when he came on, but Andrade really looked like one to look out for in the future.

As Scotland says it could have been different today, especially if DJ and Betty were fully fit and started. But it did show that quiet a few of the team aren't up for it and probably wont play for us for very much longer.

The season will be full of ifs and buts for all teams. The best teams seem to make their own luck and the struggling teams tend to rue their bad luck.

Its nice to know that all the money thats flowed into the club hasn't changed us - we are still QPR .... a player has only scored once in 50 games, he comes us against us and scores two! In all seriousness, I think it was just one of those days for us; hitting the woodwork three times and conceding two deflected goals. Agyemang isn't good enough (but I thought everyone loved a trier!) but with luck like that we could have had anyone up front and wouldn't have scored.

I think we all need to calm down and meet back here on 12th September .... although I admit that if no-one posts in the meantime I will be very bored so please carry on as this is a bit of a lifeline for me at the moment!!

No problem with this result, entirely predictable with the team available, impact of virus etc. Did not see the game so cannot comment on performance, individuals etc. Only hope is that we sign the defenders we need by next Wednesday (the other 3 in addition to Young) and spend some time out of the media spotlight getting everyone fit and building the team for the rest of the season. Still think that 12 points from the first 8 games puts us in good shape.

I've said on another thread that 3 points after 3 games is hardly a disaster. Players out injured or recovering from illness now have 2 weeks to get fit. Quality players being signed. All in all, it's looking promising.

My only concern is nw fielded this team because he actually thought they could do the job, and not because of injuries or unavailability. Please tell me it ain't so.

I just hope this is the last time we see that starting line up. If, after our mega-signings (and boy do we need them), he is still handing starts to perone, dave etc. then in neil I don't trust. Can't wait for the Newcastle game now....and midnight on the 31st!!!!

It ain't so. He made it clear last night that he felt they wouldn't have a chance so his season is starting v Newcastle.

Scotland, are you my missing twin? :)

    From another thread -

"When I saw the line-up, I changed my prediction from a 2-1 win to a 2-1 defeat. 4 centre backs and Dave - suggested we'd struggle at the back and up front. Based on the majority of posts, we all knew what might happen but were surprised by a game we could have drawn or maybe nicked.

Gabbidon was best defender AGAIN - a good buy therefore - but pace remains the issue for the others. I'm sure NW has plans to address. Harriman looked a good prospect (in time).

Taarabt's work rate was much better yesterday and although that is the last time we see that line up in mid, thought they did well enough to create many opportunities (19 attempts on goal with 9 on target - compare that to last week!!!). I am looking forward to seeing what Barton and Tarbs can do together.

Dave was occasionally a nuisance to the Wigan backs, but mostly to us. Should have left him up North to to take kiddies on rides at the beach.

Both still impresses and I wonder if there isn't a hamstring niggle - see post from Bolton game. Should have done better at the end.

Andrade looked sharp (do I mean quick?) and was another bright part. Perone looked better in their box than ours, but that's the first I've seen of him tbf.

Disappointed with the result, but looking forward to the Newcastle game and seeing who else NW can bring in to take us to Prem standard."

There are more positives than negatives, and this season was never going to be plain sailing.

Whilst it is never good losing points to a relegation rival I think this and the Bolton game have been a blessing in disguise. We now know for sure who are not up to the job and judging by Warnock's '12th September' comment so does he. 3 points from 3 games will do for now and we're still ahead of Swansea and Norwich.

By the way, I thought Norwich were worth at least a point against Chelski yesterday. It's looking grimmer for Swansea though, no goals and Danny Graham is firing blanks!
