I have sympathy for Halsey, as replays indicate there was a player in his direct view of the tackle. I think the lino should be carrying the weight of this error myself.

It was an horrendous tackle and should have been a red card, the fact the FA haven't done anything after just shows there incompetence.

fa say because the linesman saw it and deemed it not a bad tackle how can he see it he was down the other side of the pitch joke i bet you if someone did that in there next game the fa will charge them. just like referees and officials they are to inconsistent one rule for one and one for someone else. they say its out of his character that challange well in 2011 in march he done it the player had to be taken off with leg brace so it is in this character.

I'm glad to see that the FA have got their priorities right!

They would much rather protect the integrity of their incompetent officials than the health & safety of the players.

To give Halsey his due, he stated in his report, after having seen the challenge, that if he hadn't been unsighted he would have given a red card. As far as i can see it was the linesman who saw it and did nothing meaning the process can't continue.

Also Bunn was never going to get that card over turned, it was too marginal.

Does Bunn's ban get extended by one cause he appealed? I get pretty confused with the suspension rules

Don't know why we even bothered appealing. The FA are so bent there's no way we'd get it rescinded.

Mcmanaman getting off this is a complete joke. Sick of it to be honest, FA couldn't run an orgy in the playboy mansion.

says on the officiale site Bunn misses the pie eaters game, so only a 1 game ban
    no increase
must be for violent conduct (where it goes up if you appeal)

I think it's if the appeal is deemed "Frivolous" i.e. appealing the decision allows the player to play mid week.

As this was a technical offence then the ban will be 1 game, if it was for violent conduct then 3 games. You can only appeal red cards for Violent Conduct and if the appeal is rejected an extra game ban will be added. As for that horrible assualt on the Newcastle kid I am absolutely disgusted with the FA! Their priority should be to protect players safety and not the incompetence of it's own officials.

The thing I keep thinking is "if it had been us and not Newcastle, they'd have ****ed us over as well"

Standing with Newcastle on this one. Hope they sue the player and the FA

The Bunn decision was always going to be marginal and the FA have hidden behind that yet again. With all the money available in the PL I still can't understand why competent refs can't be found. The FA wants 'Respect' but they and their officials do nothing to deserve it. Too many matches are being decided by dubious refereeing decisions and yet they hide their heads in the sand. The McManaman tackle was an even more important example of that and could easily have ended with a broken leg or worse, but protecting officials is far more important to the FA. It's time they realise that 'respect' is something you give in order to get it back. Fat chance of that happening!
