Yes Jake has put in planning permission to build a motel on the bowling green site. Being brought up within the crown green bowling empire of Shrewsbury I know what a huge blow this will be to the Players & the bowls league.were you a keen bowler AJ, did you play for a team ?

His pub is sat right next to a field, surely he could try to buy that and put a motel on it? Far better than peeing off all if the locals in the village.

aj has played indoor bowling, but i loved watching crown green bowling, especially when it was televised, i recall the waterloo cup from blackpool when commentater would decry frying tonight tom has got a panful. those little comments have fascinated me for years. eh oop frying tonight! how i would like to use that expression about the shrews!

I'm sorry but i have passed ford bowling green many times (having grown up in fords heath), and i have never seen anyone actually playing bowls on it...

to be honest thinking of ford makes me want a fry up from dinkys dinah... im pretty sure even after being abroad for a few years dicky would still know me as mr davies' lad...

MF is alive and kicking, chilling to a bit of Coldplay. As for Dinky's Diner, well my old man had a cheeseburger there practically hours before I was born when he was driving to Royal Shrews hospital. Says everything about his faith in the place :emoticon-0133-wait:

As for bowls, we had lessons in Primary school <ok>

Seriously? You must have lived pretty much next door to me, the chapel's right next to our house with a postbox just outside our drive! Moved in 1999, so it can't be the same house, but it must have been the house the other side of the chapel - currently occupied by a very friendly old couple called Fred and Betty.
