As we know Tom took no part in last week's friendly against Southampton. Now hearing that his injury isn't the knee (his pre-season problem) or the ankle (his added problem from the first game of the season against Norwich). Instead it's a pain down the right side of his leg, especially when he runs, that's the issue. Word is that neither the medics or the physios know what's causing it. He's not doing any on the pitch training at the moment so, even as and when they find the root of the problem and a solution, it's going to be some time before he'll be properly fit. Not seeing him before the New Year is most definitely on the cards.
If what you say Cottage,r re; diagnosis of Cairneys injury, surely the club should as most Premiership clubs do seek advanced medical advice from either the USA or Germany.
You'd have thought so rosc. Would just be good if the Club told us though - Mackintosh reported at a meeting with the Fulham Supporters Trust people on Tuesday that his return was "imminent". That's open to interpretation of course and doesn't explain why such a long lay off. Maybe we'll get something more up-to-date from the Gaffer's press conference on Friday.
Not sure how reliable this is but I got a text off a very good mate last night, he told me he just played five a side and one the Fulham physios was playing as well who reckoned Cairney will be on the bench this weekend!
Especially considering the link the club has with an NFL team with presumably very shiny medical facilities... My hope is that we can slowly bring TC back over the next few weeks, ahead of our tough November run.
Have spoken with my mate today and first of all am happy it was a Fulham physios he was speaking to! Apparently four different doctors cannot find anything specific wrong with Cairneys knee, this is worrying because it could be Cairney wanting to protect himself for a January transfer of Cairney actually feels there is a problem the doctors are missing which will affect his performances! Anyway he is expected to be in the bench Saturday.
