I was gutted we let him go but in all fairness it was unlikely he'd want to sign a new contract. I've watched him a fair few times this season and he has been thoroughly excellent. He's definitely one that got away. Hopefully we have a buy back/sell on option in place. He'd be near the top of my transfer targets list this season
Well done Tom. He was always a class player but the move to Blackburn has allowed him to flourish. Too bad we couldn't hang on to him.
Don't get giddy boys, he's probably (if you were to list the players in the league) not even in the top 25.
the change in your level of bellendness since you fluked promotion is amazing. from zero to billybigballs all of a sudden
He wasn't going to get in the team ahead of Huddlestone, Livermore or Meyler. But it still frustrates that that we spent 3 years in the Championship before those 3 arrived, struggling to find anyone who could play the final ball and make things happen, while Cairney sat on our bench. I said it at the time... Loads of people loved to moan about him back then though "He's got no right foot", "No pace", "Only passes sideways", "Can't tackle or head". Now he's succeeded everyone loved him all along!
I've not seen praise from anyone but those who admired him. Agreed there were too many short sighted window lickers who couldn't see the player inside him.
Agree, especially during the first two seasons when we were struggling to score goals. Strange how one footedness is only an issue for left footed players and not right too.
After viewing all your diabolical opinions this season that probably means he's top 5. Your top 25 would probably have about 20 Leicester players.
To be fair to those who criticised him he definitely needed to be more direct at times where he would always look for a sideways pass. When I have seen him this season he has been playing a more advanced role and looks to be much more incisive.
He was not good enough for the Prem. FACT. Failed to impress Brown, Peo, Barmby or SB. That's why he was sold.
1) Drinkwater 2) Ings 3) Bryson 4) McCormack 5) Schmeichel 6) Austin 7) Trippier 8) Reid 9) Shackell 10) James 11) Martin 12) Vardy 13) Vokes 14) Grabban 15) Hughes 16) Rhodes 17) Deeney 18) Ulloa 19) Nugent 20) Conway 21) Cresswell 22) Knockaert 23) Kightly 24) Powell 25) Gomez 6 Leicester players.
Jamie Vardy better than Jordan Rhodes? And you expect people to take you seriously? What next, Danny Drinkwater is better than Tom Cleverley?
