The thing I've noticed we're lacking from midfield is someone to burst into the box on crosses and actually join attacks. Evans doesn't do that enough for me but Cairney does it even less. He will gladly sit on the halfway line all game.
He was breaking forwards tonight, his energy impressed me actually, always dropping back wanting the ball from the defence, but as soon as it got forward he was up there making himself space in and around the edge of the box. There was one instance where he broke all the way forward and nearly scored a 2 yard tap in had the keeper not dived at it a split second earlier.
