Away from the brilliant win today, I have noticed that probably two of our brightest youth prospects scored today in the same match, Scunthorpes 4-1 win over Walsall (Cain for Walsall and Hopper for Scunny). Good
    To see them doing well

This is good news and I understand loaning out these young players to help them get experience but what does that do for the U21 comp? Do we take final positions with a pinch of salt. I thought we were in a European League due to a high finish last season, could someone please explain for me?

Living in Staffs I hear quite a bit of feedback about Cain, Walsall fans say he gets better with each game. Nice to see him score today. Seems he's involved with everything going forwards and sets up numerous chances each game. Walsall play football the right way, so he's at a good club to nurture his talent.

IMO we have held onto our younger players for too long and they should have been loaned out a long time ago. Loaning them out gets the real experience like Tom Lawrence just got at Rotherham. Spending time with the under 21's doesn't really help them as much as playing in the championship or League 1

Whilst i agree with your point, the players probably arent good enough to be playing at that standard and i reckon you get more from playing in an U21 league with other good young players than a loan to the conference

I'm sure the management staff who've known them for years and see them every day know when is the right time to send them out on loan. It's just good to see a couple of our players on the scoresheet and getting game time.
