Apologies that I posted a thread almost identical to this before, but that was at the start of the season and thus opinions will inevitably have changed. Who in your view, is the best player in each position we have had in the past three League One seasons. Go for a 4-4-2 to make it easier. (Here's mine) ----------Elliott---------- Solly---Taylor---Morrison---Wiggins Sam---Stephens---Bailey---Reid --------BWP--Kermorgant-------
Elliott (First 7 months) Solly -Taylor - Morro - Wiggins Martin - Shelvey - Bailey - JJ BWP - Kermo/Burton (controversial, but I liked Burton and he and Kermo wouldn't work together)
Surprised you have Martin in your XI Super, I always felt his best position was behind the strikers, on the wing he always seemed overly-confident and just ended up running off the pitch with the ball.
It was close between Martin and Sam, but just thought the former had more end product (goals and assists). He was better behind the strikers, but thought he was also good on the wing - came in for a lot of undeserved criticism IMO.
Elliott Solly MorrisonTaylor wiggins Sam Hollands Bailey Jackson Abbott(only joking)BWP,Kermy. My Worse X1 in last three seasons Sullivan, Francis, Doc, Mambo,Bessone, Sam,McCormack, Parrett,Reid Akpo Sodje,Pavel Abbott.
That's a great idea Dick, we've certainly seen enough for a worst XI (though I wouldn't agree with all of yours), I'd go for: ----------Worner---------- Francis---Doherty---Llera---Fry Martin--McCormack---Stewart--Bover -------Nouble---Clarke---------- *don't think we've had any 'poor' LM's, but I've been less than impressed with Bover every time I've seen him.
I see Sam is in your best and worst teams? Bit harsh on Mambo, a young lad who has not been given a chance to show if he's good or not, I know he will be released in the summer but I always thought he could develop into a footballer from watching him in his youth days and I still feel he could perhaps.
Worse: Etheridge Francis - Doc - Llera - Borrowdale Ecclestone - Mccormack - Stavrinou - Smart Nouble - Abbott
Did Smart ever appear for us? I think Ecclestone was a far better player than the one we saw which is perhaps due to how he was managed? Would the best team be managed by Chris and the worst team by Mr Parkinson?
Best Elliott Solly-Taylor-Morrison-Wiggins Shelvey-Holland-Bailey-Jackson Kermorgant-BWP Subs Hamer, Richardson, Cort, Wagstaff, Burton
I thought the same AllHell, perhaps it was a typo and Killer intended to put 'Hollands'. Although I don't think Matt Holland formally retired once we were relegated, I seem to remember he was actually looking for a new club and only retired officially a year or so ago.
He trained with Colchester (but he said that this was just to keep fit) WW but I do not think he signed for another Club after us
Maybe we should do a team of players who took the best corners? Hamer Solly - Fortune - Llera - Borrowdale Green - Bailey - Shelvey - JJ Kermo - Martin
Yes putting Sam in the best and worst team sums up Lloyd. On his day he could be devastating, but when he had an off day he was truly awful.I have seen nothing in Yado Mambo to suggest that he will become a league footballer. He is Conference standard at best.
Silly argument coming - but what grates me about Mambo is the fact he never sleeps! Always on twitter, pretty much 24/7. He needs to learn to apply himself properly.
