If a club does want him, they'll have to pay a **** load, I'd say no less than 25m would get him.

I don't think other clubs would offer that as they could probably get a better player for as much or less.

Considering he gave up CL football to join Newcastle in the first place (and admitted people said he was mad, but he feels by getting Newcastle into Europe he is prving them wrong), I think his motivation to leave would have to be something special!

I think this is the case with a lot of our players at the minute...They've got another year of prem football, lower tier European football and less expectation on them than if they'd cost a big club a lot of money!

We've shown that playing for us is enough to get you a regular International place and we've impressed with some decent results and great atmospheres. St James' is being used in the Olympics which will be beamed world wide!

Our club is moving in the right direction and it would take a club mover further and faster (with a big bank balance) to tempt them.

Even so, I wouldn't be surprised if we're 2-3 down by the end of the summer.

Depends who was to come in and what they offered. If he has a good Euro I reckon Mike would want 15-20m. And it would need to be a Man U, Arsenal, Man City or Chelsea. Doesn't seem likely to me.

If any of the top four wanted him, surely it would have been a Man Utd side whose midfield is surely at an all time low of talent? Yet they've just signed Kagawa, who would do pretty much the same job...

Spurs have VDV, Arsenal have french midfielders coming out of their eye-balls and Arteta and won't spend money, and Man City are unlikely to want him...

So I guess we're stuck with him... Oh Well...

I have to say, in my opinion the title of this thread is really not that well thought out.... i(t's one of those 'how long is a piece of string' comments... define 'good' etc... who is the benchmark etc....are you saying the rest of the team is poor etc....)

Do I think Cabaye may have his head turned by more money and CL prospects elswewhere further down the line?......maybe.

At the end of the day, like it or not, all of our players, indeed virtually all players in the prem are effectively in the shop window and if a daft enough offer came in it would be comercially negligent not to snap the bidding club's hand off.

If I were to be asked... do you think Tiote, Cabaye, Cisse or Ben Arfa would stay if a £30m offer came in?... I'd have to say, no.. I don't think they would.

It's the way of the world but we, as a club seem to be able to navigate our way around the choppy commercial seas much better than most at present and for that I'm thankful.... as well as hopeful that we'd at least cope, if not prosper more.

TBH United were apparently quoted 25-30 mill for Sneijder in the summer. Call me stupid but I think any team would rather pay 5mill more and get him instead.
