If that had been Cattermole it would have been a straight red, simple as. How he did not even get booked for that terrible, terrible tackle I will never know.
In all seriousness though, Cabaye's foot is raised and Spearing makes the challenge. He had his eye on the ball the whole time and couldn't have pulled out. Could have been sent off granted, seen it happen loads of times. Colo's "elbow" was nothing and I think Redknapp put it best when he said "do you expect him to crouch?" because of the height difference between the two players. Again definitely no intent.
Cabaye's foot was going down for the ball and Spearing just slid underneath him, honestly I think neither tackles were malicious at all, both just going for the ball.
what a load of ****, intent can clearly be seen in both incidents. Cabaye jumps in and has eyes fixed on spearing and colocini moves his arm towards bellamy, but you unrivaled bias shows through yet again.
It was dirty from Cabaye, but Scholes used to do that about three times a game and no one batted an eyelid. Cabaye has no obligation to jump out of the way, if Spearing doesn't want to get caught he shouldn't fly into the tackle, to be fair to the lad he didn't complain much.
Cabaye should have been red carded, I agree there. But what's the issue with Colo. Is he to be forbidden to have arms in case he has to tackle somebody significantly shorter than him? Just an accidental collision.
I didn't see the incidents tonight, but agree that Cattermole gets singled out by refs and the Mags seem to get away with murder most of the time..
Don't worry, Bellamy will be fine as long as no one tells the F.A. about the video of him and Krul.... And also the replays show the ref looking directly at the challenge and did nothing about it, nothing obscured his vision or anything
The next time Cattermole appears before the F.A. he should take along a copy of Cabaye's tackle and put it forward as evidence, if the F.A. do nothing in relation to this, even though the referee has seen it, then by that definition it should be a fair tackle. Somehow i dont think it will wash, the ref has seen the incident and has not deemed it to be an unfair tackle, when all and sundry can see it for what it is. Then again would you expect the F.A. to do the right thing. They're nothing but bell-ends who should have been put out to pasture years ago.
they showed it in slow motion (Cabayeo's tackle) and he looked at spearings leg before he stamped on it he should have gone... and the outher one only he will be abloe to tell us if that was intentional
The tackle was far worse than Bardsley's on Colo, and also worse than spearing's recent red and the wolves one which has recently been upheld by the fa. Collocini's elbow looked bad but I have only seen it once so can't really say for definite. We all know the FA normally have no balls with stuff like this so no doubt they'll get awaywith it but I am certain that if this was Cattermole then they would be making an example if him and he'd get a ban without doubt
I cudnt exactly lip read Bellamy (aprt from the obvious swearing) but from what I remember it didn't even show Krul 4the most part just Bella mouthing off so Krul cud of been spouting off just as bad as him. N as for the 'the ref was looking straight at it' argument I believe Mr Webb at the weekend was also looking straight at our penalty incident, doesn't mean it was the right decision. Tho that will undoubtedly b the argument the FA use to not overturn the decision.
I'm sure Scholes was reknowned as a terrible tackler, just because he got away with it most of the time because he played for Man Utd and looks inconspicuous doesn't make his tackles ne less dangerous. Ah the old if you don't wana get hurt don't go in for the tackle ethos, doubt that one would hav washed wen De Jong broke Ben Arfa's leg. From my angle Cabaye was mm's away from having putting a kid out of action for the best part of a year on his conscience.
Cabaye should have went. I understand why it happened, if you've played any football you'll have been in similar scenarios. You see someone coming in at pace looking to get the ball and wipe you, ans the natural reaction is to stick out your foot to defend yourself instead of going for the ball. But you can't do it and its dangerous, straight red 3 match ban. Spearing got the ball but I have no doubt the little ****er was overly aggressive and was trying to nail the playmaker. Thats football and he was in the wrong. I can see him getting away with it as there was enough doubt watching it real time. Depends if the ref claims he saw it as I don't think he saw it fully. Colo was accidental and just a footballing incident. Unfortunate but no malice.
