Looks like Roma are sniffing around Cabaye.
He seems to have sorted his head out and whether this is due to him realising he needs to perform to get the move or not, no one will ever know.
Either way I really don't care TBH as long as he puts the shifts in until he does move.
If we get to January and have enough points to feel as though we won't be battling relegation then that would be enough for me to wish him the best and be comfortable that he's moving on.

    http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/nov/05/football-transfer-rumour-mill-yohan-cabaye-newcastle

You don't pay taxes, they take taxes. You get your cheque, money gone. Of course, the Mill being nothing more than a mere rumour ruminator who works for nought but food would know little about taxes (how can you tax half a fish head?). But say if you were to ask about the intricate use of stream of consciousness and how it depicts the multitudinous thoughts and feelings which pass through the mind of the varied characters in Ulysses – the cartoon, not the novel – then the Mill would be your only man. Or, say, if you were to ask about which Mr 15% wants to keep the twinkle, twinkle in his little star's eyes by engineering that dream move to a club that he had never heard of, then, once again, the Mill is your only man. Speaking of which …

Last summer, Yohan Cabaye tried his best to have a dalliance around the back of the bike shed with a couple of clubs that caught his eye, promising them that if they showed just the slightest shot of ankle, he would make it the best day of their lives. But OMG no club bit – or whatever it was Yohan wanted them to do – and Newcastle United, after some relationship crisis talks, took him back through a veil of pain and tears. Since then, the pair have been snapped out in public holding hands, window shopping in Jesmond and even (ooooooooooooh!) looking at rings in Davidsons. But behind the scenes it is a very different story. The relationship has flared up and friends of the couple describe the atmosphere around them as "fraught" and "tense". Yohan wants out and Roma are set to offer him an exit route. Should La Maggica fail to tempt Yohan to the Eternal City, via bags of good food and bags of cash, they will turn their attentions to the Tottenham Hotspur duo of Sandro and Lewis Holtby.

no doubt he'd sell us down the river for it,
doubt they want him though, not enough to offer for the price we would ask to a club that will be currently be patting itself on the back for it's astuteness in the transfer market

If his heart isn't in it, he might as well be away.

I do think depending on how we do this season he could be persuaded to stay. Especially if we sign Remy and another forward player.

I also don't think he'd want to play in Italy.

Might fancy it with his old gaffer in charge there. I think he quite fancies one the big 4-6 here though. Quality player who it would be nice to retain but we are going to lose him sooner rather than later. Just my opinion of course but I think he would appeal to the big clubs depending on price

I think that's the problem. I think it's clear we'd want 20m-25m for him (something he just isn't worth) as we didn't even negotiate with Arsenal following their first bid of 11m. I mean say we said to them we wanted 17/18m then surely there would have been a counter offer of around 13/14m from them???

I think the fact that there wasn't probably suggests that Ashley said 25m or nothing and to be honest no club is going to pay that.

Was very impressive on Saturday and personally could see him being the sort of player Mourinho could look at, so wouldn't rule Chelsea out of trying to sign him. Hope I'm wrong though.

I don't know what we want for him. I dare say though if someone offers Mike 18m for a 27 yr old, he'll be fueling up his helicopter.

Can't see him going to Chelsea with the MF they already have. Same with Spurs, City & Arsenal now that Ramsey is performing. Of the top 6 I can only see Man U or the Bin Dippers in for him

Well there 2 more defensive midfield roles were Lampard and Ramires, I know they have Mikel as cover but I thought that was one area where we won the game and Cabaye was the main reason behind that.

They could do with him tbh but couldn't stand losing another player to that shower.

I don't think he would bother moving to them. Italian teams wont pay the money ashley will want. He's been playing very well recently. If he keeps this up we would miss him.

Quite a few contenders for MOTM on Saturday.

    A really good team performance.

You always need a player who has that quality to deliver a ball like the one he did for gouff on the weekend. Not sure we would have that if he left.
