Incredible captain and player. Always been solid but he had that really good patch in the middle where it felt no winger would ever get past him. If he had 1 weakness defensively, it was in the air but he made up for it with his tenacity and effort. Wasn't always the best going forward but he covered so much group up and down it didn't matter. Dave has been fantastic for Chelsea as a player and a captain. He has won everything with us and deserved it all. Though past his best now, he has more than earned his place as a Chelsea great, and the Club will miss his experience and professionalism greatly.
