interesting that his contract details were revealed, he is out of contract in the summer. if he was in mcghees plans then he would of been given a chance to show mcghee what he can do to earn another contract. looks like its goodbye to lord byron.

Must be down to North as Byron has not featured under Mcghee.

Assume that we can recall him if we pick up injuries, better to play competitive matches and get match fit than as a bench warmer.

I liked Byron for his commitment, but unfortunately made too many mistakes and is therefore a but of a liability. If this is the end of Byron for us, im sure he will make it at another league 2 side who are looking to consolidate their position in this league, but dont think he can hack it any higher these days. If he has a solid partner next to him, he may be ok <ok>

I do wonder how important 'appearance' is. I don't dispute that Byron makes at least one catastrophic
gaffe every match. However Bolger does too, but somehow he doesn't get half the flak that Byron
does. Perhaps it's more obvious with Anthony because of his 100% commitment; but if you
watch Bolger closely he makes some howlers, though I do agree that he is still a good prospect.

Most players make mistakes at this level, otherwise they would most likely be in a higher division. Byron makes mistakes in the wrong positions though Pirate, which usually result in a defeat. Bolger has done so once or twice as well and will get picked up on it, but he usually has a MoM performance to go with it. Difference is Bolger will get better, whereas Byron is at/past his peak and will only go downhill from here.

Good defender on his day no doubt about it, but that is unfortunately becoming less and less.

    Yeah, fair points Chris.
I do find it sad though that both Campbell and Anthony, who always gave 100% to the club
and showed that it mattered to them, are just 'drifting' away.
Perhaps that's just the way it is and I'm going soft(er) in my old age!

I find it incredibly sad as well Pirate. The heart and soul was ripped out of this club by that **** Buckle. Although Trolls started the ball rolling when he started to get rid of some great personalities like Hints, Elliott, Disley, Igoe etc etc but I suppose that is the way it goes now. To be fair, most players are not loyal anyway and would have gone would the right offer come up, so it must work the other way as well (I.E getting the boot if they aint good enough).

If we could have won leagues for popularity, and a great character, then we would have been in the top league with those players by now :D

What I would give to have the Trolls era back now :(

I recall some saying similar things such as reached his peak etc about Steve Elliott not too long ago. Now he 'aint been doing too badly at Cheltenham !

I think BA still has a lot to offer and hope it is only a temp loan.

I think its the right move for both parties. he wasn't getting played and I heard he was one of the high earners so it doesn't surprise me that he's gone.
However a top professional and a top bloke. wish him all the best for the future. <ok>
