Alright lads (& lasses if you have any),

Sam Byram, we've been linked and it seems to be gathering a bit of weight, it seems both ourselves & Southampton have put in initial bids, and that the lads preference is Sunderland, that's not to say he wants to leave, but that if he does he'd choose us over them, probably being a Leeds lad he fancies staying relatively local and not being sold to Liverpool in 6 months.

Just looking for opinions, info, and whether you think he can step up straight away, or if a buy & loan back would be better.

All the best for the season, be good to see another big club in easy travelling system back up!

His agent has said he wants to play in pl if he gets a chance. Judging by Cellinos transfer dealings in the mc Cormack transfer, it's likely whoever gets Byram will have to stump up close to 10m for his services. The Byram of two seasons ago was probably worth it, the one from last season definitely not. Having said that we epwere such a shambles last season, it's impossible to judge

he has potential, but he's still very raw and makes mistakes, plus you'll have to pay a lot to get him (more than he's worth, probably). He was injured a lot last season, another worry for anyone lashing out on him

    Cheers lads.

I asked a couple of lads who I know who are Leeds they said he'll either be an England player or a nobody.

I guess that's based on what you are saying, great season/poor season.

Suspect it will be a bidding war pure and simple. Saints have all that scouse cash to get through and we and every other club will be holding out for as much as we can get...... Can't see you landing him for that reason alone.

Gus will know just how much potential Sam has and will have seen him as a kid. He was out most of last season with a mystery hip injury and he's still not back to the form that saw him win player of the year the season before. He would be a big gamble at £10m because the injury will be with him for the rest of his life (According to Macdermot) he has to learn to play with it and adapt his game and body to it. Doesn't sound good does it.

If true, would not pass a proper medical at Premiership level and might be a psychological reason why he doesn't get up the pitch as much as he should?

Think any view donut expressed about pretty much anything whilst at Leeds can be ignored. His prime motivation for coming and then clinging on seems to have been about giving his mates another pay day and lining his pocket.

Hunts huge wage seems ALMOST corrupt, presume someone checks for kickbacks.

I dunno if we've even made a bid in truth, got some weight as was posted in the Sunderland Echo, who have good links to the club as you'd expect, but they then said they were 'quoting the Daily Start', which is like me taking a pot guess at how many lasses in the Bigg Market don't have an STD.

    Futile.

We do need a RB though, and one that is nice on the ball, and we have built a predominantly British first XI, I certainly can't see us paying anywhere near £10million so I'd imagine it's gonna be Saints or nowhere.

Maybe you fleece Saints for £10 million and we snaffle Clyne off them for £5-6million, win/win.

After the last few owners you've had mate, can only be a good thing.

We were linked with McCormack, clear;y a talented lad, but we thought £6million was too much, getting 11 was incredible business, staggering.

From a non PL cub to boot, insanity, you can kinda understand PL clubs have an extra £35-40 million sloshing about, but Fulham are losing closer to £70million, unreal deal for Leeds was that.

Subbed yesterday after an hour for being unfit and a disgrace. This from the Fulham manager.

    Aye, seen that.

That said, I'm baffled at Magath being kept on, having heard about the way players have kicked off about his training methods, didn't that lad say they ran so hard all week they had no logs for a Saturday.

    Sounds smart like, ha.

He went to Fulham while Leeds were in Italy so he only missed a week and a half didn't he. Can't understand how he's not fit.
