I would like to announce that I have decided not to renew my contract with Leicester City. I have taken this decision only 24 hours after receiving the proposal from Leicester because I want to give the club as much time as possible to find an alternative. I would like to thanks all the fans who last season made me feel proud to be part of a club with an unforgettable spirit and energy. And a very special thanks to all my team mates, staff and every people of the club, with whom I have lived one of the most important years of my career, crowned with the remaining EPL status. I think we will miss his knowledge of the game next season,I for one would of loved for him to stay on another season,but onwards and upwards.all the best Esteban good luck wherever you end up
disappointed that he's decided to leave will be gutted if he decides to go to somewhere like West Ham. We can't get a like for like replacement of his quality they just won't sign for us it was a coup getting him in the first place. We just need a couple of midfielders in now
I think it would have been better to announce this sooner than 10 minutes before the first game of pre-season to be fair.

I wish him all the best ... he was phenomenal ... but I have every confidence in survival without him ... hopefully we will bring in another 'leader' as Ranieri has stipulated ... someone that will be a fixture for a number of years .... Like others I'd prefer to see him continue his 'journey; outside of the EPL now ... but will stand and applaud him if he does turn up at the KP as an opposition player whoever that is with ...
Agreed and think we'll now see something sooner rather than later .. I suspect we were paying Esteban a fair old wack which will now go into the budget pot ...

Admittedly, we are definitely not going to find someone with the same experience and quality as him, but I don't think we ought to be considering ourselves as relegation candidates with or without him. In fact, it is a bit disrespectful to the rest of the squad who have improved over last season and should be more able to carry the responsibility on their own shoulders this season. Obviously I would have preferred for him to stay, but the decision has been made and we move on.
We dont need to find someone of his quality. You could quite easily build a case for him being the best footballer ever to pull on a Leicester shirt We need quality but we cant go comparing players to a world class midfielder
Not surprisingly perhaps, I agree with you ... our biggest problem last season was our inability to keep a clean sheet ... and Robert Huth was, IMHO, the biggest factor in addressing that ... and he's now here permanently ... Mahrez is our most creative player and he's still here ... we now need a younger version of Cambiasso with legs and drive that will compensate for losing Esteban's experience ...
TBF Gangster it's only the media that interpreted what CF said was an ultimatum and as fantastic a player he was and in future will no doubt be, we could not wait with everything crossed indefinitely mate ! Remember we are a football club and from owners to kit ladies people move on! The only thing that doesn't change is the name of the club.... Well unless erm erm your a top championship side supported by Humbrarians
