Such bad news, Jack has a fractured ankle and is out for up to 3 months. Cruel luck for him as he is unlikely to be fit for the Euros. It's also our loss of course and extends our curse with regards to injuries this season.

And that's why I don't want stoke players playing for England. Feel really bad for Jack Butland but there go our chances of top 8. International football................stick it up your arse, it's a complete farse anyway, yes we played really well but as soon as Rooney, willshere and Co are fit all of the old **** players will be back in.

I can't get excited about England any more. It must be devastating for an individual player wanting to represent his country in the top competitions however and because of that I feel for Butland. Injuries can happen at anytime but it's especially disappointing when they occur in an international friendly. England won't suffer as a result of Jack's misfortune, it's Stoke who will unfortunately.

The thing is though ProudPotter is that Butland has been England's best keeper for 18 months, yet it takes an injury to Hart for him to get a chance. The same goes for a lot of other players. If Walcott, Rooney etc gad been fit the lads that played really well the other night would never have had a chance. Hodgson is a user and a yes man with no backbone and I expect to see the same old guard starting 11 come the Euros and not the players who have deserved to play.

Apparently Wilshire has not played for 12 months and Hodgson will puck him, same goes for Luke Shaw.

As was and ever will be...that's why England will always be also-rans

Yes, I read somewhere recently that once Wilshere is fit Woy will pick him for the Euros, what a joke that is. He's also saying Rooney will be in his squad once he is fit. Typical Hodgson, the sooner he goes the better. Unfortunately I cannot see that happening anytime soon. Hodgson will remain in his post irrespective of England's performance this summer, he will be handed the task of taking them to the next WC. I despair!!

I agree whole heartedly, you should be picked on form and if you have not played for your club due to injury you shouldn't be in the squad never mind the team.

    Would you believe it........

I've just read the Sunday Times sports section about England v Germany and Butland is rated 4/10 and being used as the scapegoat for England's poor start, joining a list of ....'Robert Green and Scott Carson' The media make me sick!!

The most annoying part is that I actually believe that this new crop of players have the potential to be very competitive at the Euros, unfortunately Hodgson is managing so we won't see half of them. What a waste!!

Take ShawX, on for last 10 minutesup against Ibramovic who was 'on fire' and already scored a couple. He turned Ryan, scored ergo end of Ryan's international career.

Meanwhile, Cahill, Smalling Jone etc etc can and do get it wrong game after game are picked.

The politics of football, if you play for a big club you can do what you want.

Jack got his 4/10 rating because he played on while not fully fit and was thus unable to stop a softish shot, and was therefore to blame. We know why he played on, but he should not have. A fully fit 'keeper of Forster's ability would have saved the shot. Having said that, I empathize with the lad.
