Swords, What AV do you have installed? Get Avira and run a full scan, its free and quite good. Go to ADD/Remove programs in control panel and remove anything that looks like "shopping assistant" or "search assistant" If your not sure take a screen shot and PM me Then install Adblocker for IE if as that works quite well for streams.
Wotcha Rhino. I've got Norton mate. I've tried Kapersky and one or two others down the years but I find Norton's the only one that don't give me Jip. 1) Am looking into that now 2) I've gone into uninstall programs and to be honest, it doesn't look like there's much sh*t in there. There's no "assistant" programs at all. There's 35 in all and the total space being used is 774 MB. I've unchecked all five or six programs that load up simultaneously when I power up (eg the Printer) to try speed her up. 3) I'll have a gander at that now too
For streaming, torrents and the such use linux on a rubbish old computer and avoid the paranoia and hassles. Windows is just too dodgy for all that.
