Not sure how many people have read my first entry but I'm trying to start my own little groundhopper-imitation with BusFace, a blog from the point of view of a football fan with a restricted budget (me). I'm still trying to get the feel of it but eventually I want it to be an incomprehensible guide for local football enthusiasts.

I realise this has been done before but I like adventures so I'm going to add a little twist. You guys decide where I go!

Now I have to plan around work but I've got a window this saturday, I'm only at work 7am-11am and both Toon and Blyth don't have home games.

    The matches to pick from (because I won't have you sending me to see the New York Bulls or whatever) are;

    Dunston UTS v Newcastle Benfield
    North Shields v Marske United
    Blyth Town v Carlisle City
    Cramlington Town v Murton
    Seaton Delaval Ameteurs v Stocksfield
    Walker Central v Alnwick Town
    Gosforth Bohemians v Cullercoats
    Spennymoor v Whitley Bay

Now as well as picking where I go, I want suggestions as to what I should look out for, it can be anything. Any dogs wandering about? How many hats? Does the barman moan when I ask him to break a tenner, stuff like that.

Get voting lads and needless to say, I need to know by Friday what I'm doing. <ok>

Nice idea... quite like the groundhopping idea myself. Was at Guisborough on Saturday (my mentor was refereeing so got me in for free and gave me a lift there) and was gonna go to Tow Law this afternoon but couldn't be bothered by the time I got out of bed. Go to Chester-le-Street games whenever I can be bothered and there are no clashes and been to Croft Park a few times too.

Not too familiar with most of those teams, but I'd go for the Blyth Town one <ok>

Why no option for us to tell you our own choice of where you should go?

I'm quite restricted by the fact I don't currently own a car and/or much money. :(

Any local suggestions (Northumbria/Tyne&Wear) are welcome. <ok>

Spennymoor - Whitley Bay would be my choice out of any in the region. They come out to Local Hero and wear Black and White...

Cramlington Town v Murton has a touch of Geordies vs Mackems about it.

    Where you coming from? Blyth?

    Blyth - Newcastle, Newcastle-Durham, Durham-Spenny? Bit of a hassle though :\

Aye I'm coming from Blyth. I get in from work about half 11, kickoff is 3. Sounds doable. <ok>

Do-able, but would be quite expensive, buses are a rip-off, slow and smell like piss. Train from Durham to Newcastle might be an option, prefer train travel, quicker and usually costs less for me.

Not sure about how far you'd have to walk from bus stop in Spenny to the ground, but I'm sure you could find it.

Train sounds like a decent option yeah. Okay, Spennymoor's an option now though I can't seem to edit it into the poll.

Shared a car with my dad but kinda bust it then ****ed off to Australia, came back penniless and haven't been able to afford to drive since.

I voted Walker. See whether you can find any more Michael Richardsons!

Walker central - isn't that who M. Richardson used to play for? In the BBC article on him, it said he visited there now and again to see his old club.
