The R’s aren’t exactly renowned for their success in recent cup competitions, but Harry Redknapp will surely see this as an opportunity to rebuild some confidence within the squad following Sunday’s 4-0 loss at Tottenham Hotspur. But League Two Albion certainly won’t lie down for the R’s. After their impressive start in the league – they’ve picked up ten points from their opening four fixtures – the Brewers will relish this opportunity to test themselves against Premier League opposition, having already disposed of Wigan Athletic in the opening round. Despite going a goal down to Uwe Rosler’s men at Eton Park, the hosts fought back to win 2-1, with Dominic Knowles and Stuart Beavon on target to overturn Marc Antoine-Fortune’s opener. After winning promotion to the Football League in 2009, Albion have steadily improved, culminating in a fourth-placed finish last term. Unfortunately, they suffered play-off heartache, losing out to Fleetwood at Wembley. They have shown little evidence of a hangover from that disappointment, however, and Gary Rowett’s men will surely be there or thereabouts again this term as they look to improve on last season’s league standing, which was the highest in their history. BURTON ALBION – Likely line-up: McLaughlan, Taft, Cansdell-Sherriff, Sharps, Edwards, McFadzean, Mousinho, Akins, Weir, Beavon, McGurk PRE-MATCH TALK BURTON QPR Burton Albion midfielder Callum McFadzean: “We just need to keep doing what we're doing. “At present we're doing the right things, because we're getting results so hopefully we can kick it on. “Every game we go into we try to dominate in possession. It's good at the moment as we can mix it up as well as keeping the ball, so things are good at the minute.” BET VICTOR Burton Albion win: 16/5 Draw: 11/4 QPR win: 4/5 LAST MEETING BURTON QPR Burton Albion and QPR have never played each other before. He's playing the age-old trick called "Shock the Chairman". He might buy him another striker then. Either that or he's just chucked a few players together to go out and "fizz it about a bit". He's putting W-Phillips and Taarabt into the shop window which is a policy I always thought was daft. He played W-Phillips all preseason even though he just wants rid of him. Any chance of a stream fellas? I'd say the chances are pretty remote
I don't really understand this lineup. We haven't played a full strength side to 'guarantee' a win & get confidence, nor have we given Isla/Mutch/Fer minutes for fitness. Yun's nowhere to be seen, whilst SWP is starting ahead of the likes of petrasso. Plus we're ditching 352 I think*.... If we aim to play that formation, doesn't it need practicing. The tombola machine strikes again * Murphy Simpson Dunne Onouha Hill ?
If we all got a pound each every time we thought that since he took over, would we be able to buy the Club ourselves by now?
I was expecting surprises, but wtf, spot on Grifter and just about everyone who has said that the new boys need more time together, a chance to get the 3-5-2 working and a good chance to get a confidence win.
Im not expecting much from that team but hopefully Harry will prove me wrong like our lack of desire and passion on Sunday was nothing to do with him!!!!....
Ian Taylor and Andy Watkins from the press team think it's 442 and 4411 respectively. We'll see eh! please log in to view this image
Has anyone caught wind of a live stream? I don't expect there to be one but you can sometimes be surprised.
