Burst water main in Kingswood sends floods gushing towards houses and closes roads

    THE water supply went down in Kingswood after burst gas and water mains sent floods gushing onto roads.

    Some people were trapped in their houses and others were evacuated after the water main burst at 5pm on Thursday (September 25). (thats today)

    The water was gushing into the air and broke up the road surface, and the resulting flood sent people fleeing upstairs in their homes, as they feared some buildings could flood.

    But that in turn also ruptured a gas main, prompting fears for people's safety.

    Fisher Road in Kingswood was closed at 5pm, and police and firefighters were on scene to help.

    Bristol Water were on the scene by 5.30pm. (today)

    The emergency is causing problems for homes and businesses across East Bristol.

    Affected areas include Kingswood, Pucklechurch, Mangotsfield, Oldland Common, Longwell Green, Barrs Court, Keynsham, Stockwood and Whitchurch.

    A spokesman said: “Properties in Kingswood and the surrounding area may be experiencing water supply interruptions and pressure problems due to a burst water main in the area.

    “Our engineers will reinstate water supplies back to normal as soon as they can and we apologise for the inconvenience this emergency is causing.”

    A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said they were dealing with the road closures.

    was it caused by all the gas p*ssing their pants coming to terms with the fact which we already know that they are actually fcuking sh*te

    Just been contacted by the 150,000 gasheads who I must add confirmed will all be travelling to their away game morro that they need not threat that their shed of a club shop is safe cause it's built like the ark..........Yer out of wood.....wan*ers
