Anyone else listening to Humberside? Hinting that morale within the club is going down because of staff redundancies, and even charging other club's scouts to come to the matches is having a knock on affect for our scouts. Also not much if any money to spend in the Summer. For all the money Mr Allam has put in so far we are grateful but all the penny pinching he is doing to run it like any other business is just going to put any players off coming here as we look like a club just trying to do everything on the cheap. I just have that awful sinking feeling that the "honeymoon" period might be over with our new owners and if we do not get the players we need to stay in the Championship (or Premier (fingers crossed)) then we will just be on a downward spiral.
let's wait until the first game of next season before believing the ramblings of a bbc reporter - who probably hasn't got full access to all the financial data
Who also last season had us going into administration and the Allams deal falling through every week till they signed on the dotted line.
Got the feeling that the Allam's where miffed that we had Adebola hanging around costing us 750k in total. With that money wasted then why spend more.
It's true that all non-playing staff have been put at threat of redundancy. Does that sound like a club about to spend in the summer? And we wont be buying Vito.
It will be a disaster for us if Vito isn't signed for the start of the season. I'll be waiting to see where we are come August before passing any judgements because sometimes things work out a lot differently from what you might expect.
Weird figure that. No transfer fee so you're telling me an unpopular, old player cost us 750k in signing on fee and one year's wages? What the hell does that work out at p/w?
14,423 a week on wages...... Even taking into account signing on fee and agent fee sounds a bit dodgy.
Trust me, unless Arsenal have a MASSIVE change of heart and let him leave for free - which they wont - then we wont be signing him. The Swiss trialist will be next season's number 1 as he is defo signing.
I agree that he does seem still to have money to give away but I just can't see him spending anything much on City. Before anyone tells me I am ungrateful etc etc. I am not being harsh on him I know he has put a lot into the club and is trying to get us to be financially sound but my worry is that he admits he isn't really a football fan, he thought he was rescuing the club for the people of Hull, he puts money into the University to give back something to Hull and the political parties get money from him for much the same reason, so he can put something back into this country. His heart is in the right place but he just doesn't have the passion for the club, if he keeps the whole thing ticking over then I think that will be enough for him because he will have felt he has done his bit.
If we are putting our hope in a 'Swiss trialist' goalie next season then I'm a bit worried to tell the truth, this season would have been much, much worse if we hadn't got Vito back.
Was driving to the ground, listening to Burnsy on Blunderside, and he quoted the figure that Adebola has cost the club 750K.
That's why it's annoying. We all know they are very rich but the message from Burnsy is that not a lot will be spent on the team.
