They were at a good level physically and they should all be available from now on until the end of the season hopefully. on Debuchy… Debuchy is alright. I can only play three players over 21 [in the under-21 league] so he is physically fit and ready. He lacks a bit of a competitive edge but overall he has no medical problems. on Szczesny… He has a chance to be fit this weekend. on Koscielny… It’s a thigh problem, a little hip problem linked with the thigh. He will have a test today to see how far we can go with him. He had a scan yesterday and that looks quite good. The real test will be outside today. on Oxlade-Chamberlain… He’s still out for at least two more weeks. on the rest of the squad’s availability… Everybody else seems to be available. You'd expect that team wouldn't you? Though whether Santi and Ozil play further forward with Ramsey next to Coq, or Ramsey on the right with Ozil in the 10 spot, or an interchanging system between the 3 throughout the match... Be interesting to see who does and doesn't make the bench...
Kos has a slight knock issue according to Wenger, so maybe best to be on the safe side and let him rest up and go with Gabriel. Now that games 1 coming once a week, by the time kos plays again next week in the semi final it will have been a nice 2 weeks rest for him.
Make no mistake this will be a hard game. Burnley have already drawn with the Chavs, drawn with United, drawn with Sp*rs and beaten Man City. Will be a difficult test.
Yep I agree this will be a tough test. They've got a real fighting spirit and they will throw the kitchen sink at us tomorrow. I'd approach this game like the City away game, soak up the pressure and hit them quickly on the break. As for personnel, I'd go with Santi further forward and Ramsey sitting alongside Coq. Gabby is an adequate replacement for Kos, so no need to risk him either.
Giroud has ten goals in his last ten apps in all competitions and ozil has 7 goals/assists (3 goals 4 assists) in his last 8 league games. Expecting both to play every game now tbh!
I'm looking forward to this game now - it'll be a tough game, but hopefully our class can show, and we can be clinical like we were in the 8 mins against Liverpool...
Can't believe how quiet it is here - especially with St Tottering Day getting nearer and nearer... Personally I can't see Debuchy starting this one, and Bellerin is doing very, very well, so it's a very nice situation to be in...
I don't think debuchy will start today but I expect him back in the starting line up within a couple of games.
I am very happy with bellerins contribution this season though and he is n good form. I think he is going to become a very good player. Along with toral I've been waiting to see how they do when given a first team chance and bellerin this season has really grabbed the opportunity given to him.
Yeah i can't believe how well Bellerin has played, and it looks like he'll be a really top player. He's shown a bit of naivety at times, which is to be expected, and Debuchy is a top RB, as he showed at the start of the season in a poorly performing defence - the problem is how to integrate a rusty, un-match fit Debuchy into the team at the expense of a flying Bellerin...
Maybe Bellerin will be converted back into his original right winger position in the future a la Gareth Bale.
