Burnley v Watford. Watford travel t'up North - deep into whippet land - to try to get a very valuable even vital 3 points from their old gravel voiced manager and centre back. It seemed that most Watford players made it through Saturday´s game with only cramp. However, Dyche has injury and contract issues surrounding his squad - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/53142222 They also chased shadows for 90 minutes on Monday in their 5-0 loss to Citeeeh. One thing for sure, we did well against Leicester and the same grit and determination will be needed to get anything out of this game. With Burnley´s current situation and an empty Turf Moor Watford will not get a better chance to win. But, we all know how unpredictable football can be. COYH COYH COYH
Call me superstitious of you like but I think we need to get the spelling right on the thread title... In other news I've been to Turf Moor three times, seen us lose three times. This time, for all the reasons Mex says, I think this is eminently winnable for Watford. Football is a fickle mistress, though....
I would think the way things are going. Pearson would be happy with a point.... we may go setup for that... Does anyone have any updates re the Burnley squad\?
https://www.lancs.live/sport/footba...ley-contracts-dyche-hendrick-watford-18478009 Nothing confirmed, but it looks like they are still going to be short of a few 'big name' players. Good news for us...
And an update:- they will be without Ashley Barnes, Chris Wood, Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Robbie Brady. https://www.burnleyexpress.net/spor...out-key-quartet-again-against-watford-2894003
“João Pedro has looked very sharp in training, I have to say. He could have an impact but thankfully what we’ve done is got him fitter, sharper, and he’s looking more of the part now. I wouldn’t write him out now, because they all have to be ready.” Craig Shakespeare
Hopefully Vydra won't come good for them! Wood and Barnes usually score against us so glad they are out if true.
https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/18538040.watford-picked-no-new-injuries-ahead-burnley-match/ Apart from the three out. DEl boy, Success and Janmaat - we are all ok!
Indeed - Burnley will be without Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes, Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Robbie Brady when Watford visit on Thursday night. All four are unavailable due to injury, while Jeff Hendrick, Joe Hart, Aaron Lennon and Adam Legzdins have not had their contracts renewed. ¡¡WOW!! https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...ce-watford-number-first-team-players-missing/
There has been plenty of talk about players that Dyche wanted to retain not having new contracts offered and him being unhappy. This has now been reported. Burnley manager Sean Dyche could leave at the end of the season after growing frustrated with the lack of transfer funds and stalling contract-extension talks for various players. Maybe an unhappy camp?
Maybe he will do is a favour... Let's all chant his name... Oh of course.. Mind you I had three tickets for the game and would have been there tonight
I never like it when everything seems in our favour-even Lawro tipping Clarets. Still we live in hope
AD on the bench, second-half sub to come on and run through their midfield stretching their tired legs?
