A tough ask faces us on Friday night, visiting high flying Burnley whose defence is by far the best in the league. Norwich City are once again in action on Friday night as they make the trip to Turf Moor to face Burnley (KO 8pm). City drew 0-0 with Sunderland at Carrow Road in midweek with other results making a play-off place looking increasingly unlikely. They head to Burnley sitting 11th in the table with just five games of the campaign left to play. The Opposition After relegation from the Premier League last season, and a change of manager, the Clarets have put themselves in a good position to make an immediate return. Scott Parker's men are in second behind Leeds United with both teams on 85 points. However, they'll also be keeping a close eye on Sheffield United who are hovering just below them on 83, making for an interesting race for the automatic promotion places. Squad update Our conventional LB options are ruled out for the season. Every conventional winger injured, barring Borja Sainz. Schwartau, Nunez and Slimane all limped out of the last game but hopefully will be fine for this game as they were mainly down to cramp in Nunez and Slimane's cases. (CM) Gibbs - FIT - 2 weeks - hamstring injury - Back in training and likely to make the bench (RW) Hernandez - ??? - Left out of the last squad for disciplinary reasons due to social media activity. (LW) Jurasek - OUT - Still feeling pain in his quad after training last week, struggling with training intensity. (CB) Doyle - OUT - 2 weeks - Calf injury - Targeting return for the last 2-3 games of the season (RW/ST) Crnac - OUT - 1 week - Ankle injury - Sustained in Plymouth game (GK) Mair - OUT - No timeline - Returned to the club after breaking his finger. (RW) Springett - OUT - His season is over and J suspect he will be leaving in the Summer (CM) Forsyth - OUT - His season is over after having knee surgery - last option (RW) Dobbin - OUT - His season is over after injuring the opposite calf for which he was withdrawn against Stoke (LB) Chrisene - OUT - His season is over after ankle injury sustained in the first challenge from Dennis vs Blackburn (LB) Mahovo - OUT - His season is over with the injury to his quad possibly requiring surgery Positive vibes!!! ON THE BALL CITY!!!
I have wondered whether for the past few years the training methods Norwich employs to maximise the player performance means that they are brittle both in training and in games. We have found a way to fine tune the engine so to speak to such an extent that a wrong tackle, running getting hit by an ill timed leaf they end up getting injured, whatever their weakest point just breaks. There are so many players out on that list!
03.45 ko for me now clocks have changed. Will only watch it I wake up for a pre in time. Auto correct is rubbish. Every time I print wake it comes up as said or same. Why?
Very defensive looking. They normally put the team out in some sort of position order but this appears to just be in squad number order. Looks like a 5-3-2 with Sainz and Marcondes up top, but realistically couldn’t be anything with those players
JHT said there would be rotations, Sargent has been playing a lot of football. Can’t afford to lose him with Crnac out at the moment
Hope to see a good performance from Marcondes tonight, he’s not looked like the same player since coming back from injury. Happy to see McConville get his first start
If we are being honest, this is shockingly bad defensive work and generally gifting of goals to opposition
Ball was rolling when Kenny took the freekick, refs always bring that back. Typical we concede from it
