Burnley versus Bristol City: A highly-anticipated derby clash left Burnley feeling the of frustration of a fifth draw in their ninth game of the Championship season. The statistic paints a stark portrait of the glaring issue facing Vincent Kompany’s side. Despite controlling large portions of matches, Burnley’s lack of incision and threat in the final third make for an ultimately toothless display. Against Bristol City, that flaw could be fatal. The 11-day hiatus from football threatened to put cold water on the Robins' blistering play-off momentum, and against Norwich City, they faced their most difficult test yet, and while manager Nigel Pearson was left ruing his side's avoidable defensive lapses in their a fiercely exciting 3-2 loss, it was admittedly difficult to come away from this match entirely angry at going toe-to-toe with Norwich City away from home. The Robins easily could have left Carrow Road with a share of the spoils without any accusations of nicking. Bristol City's loss knocked them out of the play-off spots, usurped by a supercharged Sunderland. Burnley and Bristol City boast 14 points apiece going into the 10th game of the season. Bristol City need their play-off spot back. Burnley need to kill off a penchant for draws. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/efl-weekend-preview-bristol-city-27988156
Bristol City predicted team vs Burnley: Antoine Semenyo pushing for start, focus on Kal Naismith Bristol City take on Vincent Kompany's Burnley at Turf Moor in their final Championship fixture before the international break https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-team-burnley-naismith-7597006 Bristol City (3-4-1-2): Dan Bentley; Zak Vyner, Kal Naismith, Rob Atkinson; Mark Sykes, Joe Williams, Alex Scott, Jay Dasilva; Andi Weimann; Tommy Conway, Nahki Wells
NP has not upset the balance or starting line up to date, so why start today? who would he replace ... choices are not just the trio up front ... but would upset the balance Nahki and Conway seem well suited so maybe WEIMANN on bench? But AS would then need to replace NW? ... IT IS A PUZZLER ...........
best of luck to City ..... not available this afternoon .... maybe occassional quick sneak at result to date, but rather loath to do that as always seem to do at a point where they score in less than a minute ... maybe should try a peek at 16 mins gone!
Aside from being bitten by a venomous spider and having a lovely tetanus shot yesterday I am back in the morning coffee chair about to watch City. Come on City make me feel better. Too many birds missing due to the bird flu has meant a massive growth of nasty biting things.
not the same mindset!! by now we have usually got at least 3 shots and 1 on target .. only on 8 mins of possession. GDaughter not well so nowt to do now this pm ......... so be prepared for a 5 - 2 result !!!!
Half-time ratings Dan Bentley - 6 Zak Vyner - 7 Kal Naismith - 6 Rob Atkinson - 5 Mark Sykes - 6 Jay Dasilva - 6 Matty James - 5 Alex Scott - 6 Andi Weimann - 6 Nahki Wells - 7 Tommy Conway - 6 (BristolPost)
Both Conway and Scott taken off at HT… I understand Scott as he picked up another yellow, but odd that Conway was taken off at HT?
We have just paid the price for sitting back and letting Burnley to dominate and now we are down 1-2. Why do we sit back like this when we are still in the game as it's one of our bad traits because we can't defend? Only 25% possession.
kept out of the way till now and we have had just 18 mins possession although 6-5 + 5corners is impressive Their 10 shots - 4 - 7 is doing the business
