Morning fellow Townies, so we have the FA cup 4th Rd tie against Burnley today. Would be great to go through but this is a real bitch of a tie, not a glamour club but a clash with the current best side outside the prem. We are rotating, they are going full strength, i think we will give them a match but end up coming short.....1-3 Burnley and we move on to a game against the Yellows (who play in old gold/orange!!!)
If they are going full strength then this will be very difficult, but this is where we find out how far weve come this season and the level to aim for, im looking forward to it nonetheless and there should be a 23000 + crowd so a good atmosphere.
A great test and we love a Cup run, but as Spanish says , we will field an alternative team today not really a 2nd X1. We will hustle and threaten and give a good account of ourselves and come out losers 2-1. Looks like Brenner's dulcit tones as no iFollow. Cant be ar...d to go to e Esp or Paramount via Brisbane ffs.
An entertaining 3-2 defeat. Depends how weakened we are really, but the priority for us is promotion. I imagine it’s the same for Kompany’s Burnley team, a more attractive and skilful footballing side than they have been in previous years. They may also rest some players, as they’ve got some tough Championship fixtures coming up. As others said, no real pressure on us - for once - but as Spanish says, hopefully an opportunity to showcase our skills against one of the best English teams outside of the Premier League.
Can't see anything other than a defeat today. That said, they won't come to put 10 men behind the ball, so we should be able to compete. 1-2
I'm watching, gaffer. It's been a competitive and balanced game so far, with us having the better of the play. We're pressing high, winning the ball back and causing more problems than Burnley probably were expecting. We've not really created too many chances but have had a couple of good counter attacks that could've resulted in a goal. Kompany will probably tweak some things during his half time talk but then so will McKenna. It looks like a game that either side can win, as I say, an evenly balanced first half.
More than held our own, I'm expecting them to kick on second half but we certainly ain't been outclassed, pretty much on a par with them!!
Sounds like a decent performance, and only Man Utd and Watford have kept a clean sheet against them! Long trip up Lancashire, and the good news is Sheffield Weds also draw today!
That was a decent FA Cup match. We were easily a match for Burnley today, now we'l have to see how we do up at their place. Well done Town
Exceeded my expectations against a team brushing aside the championship. 5th round draw will have our name involved. Good Saturday afternoon.
Good afternoon and shows that we could hold our own if we can finally get out of the third division. Special mention to Jackson who I was very critical of on Tuesday, ran his socks off and put some good balls into the box.
