View attachment 18903 vs Charlton face the long trip up to turf moor to face Sean Dyche's Burnley side. Whilst we beat Bristol City 2-0 on sunday to record back to back wins for the first time this season Burnley went to Portman road and were beaten 2-1 by relegation candidates Ipswich Town. Burnley currently sit 13th in the table with 23 points from their 16 games and a win on saturday could see us overtake them but only on goal difference. It's astonishing how Burnley only sit in 13th place with someone scoring that many goals upfront so it looks to me that he is carrying that team at the moment and will probably be in the premiership come January. It's also worth noting that when he comes up against us he usually sticks the ball in the back of the net. Parkys last game in charge? 4-2 defeat to swindon at home were I believe he scored twice. As we've achieved back to back wins for the first time this season I wanna say we will win again but I reckon the most likely outcome will be a score draw however if we can keep Austin quiet we could be coming home with all 3 points and continue our march up the league table.
I would be happy with a draw. More likely to lose than win, I fear. Interesting that you have put Dervite in for Pritchard. There could be a case for it, but as CP stuck by Pritchard when his form was patchy, I can't see him omitting him now he is playing well. Jonsson will be on the bench for sure, instead of Green or Harriott, and Fuller in place of Taylor if Dervite is a sub.
Well, we hope he is back. I fear his Charlton career will be a case of "now you see him, now you don't". I can live with that if we are paying him accordingly because opposing defenders will be thinking the same thing about him during matches.
Around this time last year we were playing a Huddersfield side with Jordan Rhodes who couldn't stop scoring. Morrison had him in his pocket the whole game, same again tomorrow with Austin, Burnley 0-1 Charlton, Fuller off the bench.
I think that we could potentially nick a win here as well, we seem to be doing better away from home, and especially against teams that we are wary of. We should definately be wary of Charlie Austin. But if we can keep him quiet (and the Huddersfield game sprang to my mind also) then i think we could nick this 1-0. I think it will be a set piece to decide the game
The Doctor described Sunday as "The Perfect Performance" so there is no way he'll change the starting line-up. I expect that on Saturday we'll find out how much this performance was due to the quality of the opposition. Should be a very close game, I expect a 1-1.
I just can't see us winning again away this Saturday but you never know it will be a great feet if we do and three wins on the spin
I share the same opinion. Burnley are very strong at home, and is generally where they get all of their points from. I understand that our away form is pretty similar to their home form bit the difference is they have a 20 goal a season striker. In November. I still don't think we've got it 100% right in defence, and this is where I think we will need to score 2 just to get a point. I hope for a 2-2, but can see us going down 2-1.
I'm more confident about our defense now that we've got Seaborne in. I'd be even happier with Wilson playing, but hey, we've got our mojo back, we're a hard-working team, and it will take a good team to beat us.
I share the opinion too sadly. Three big fixtures in a row against the top two when we were desperate for a win then a game against the bottom team that we had to win. Now a relatively nondescript fixture that its hard to get excited about in comparison. Feels like a Derby or a Watford. Can't see us getting much. If we do it could be very significant
Charlton: Hamer; Solly, Morrison, Cort, Seaborne, Jonsson, Pritchard, Jackson (c), Kerkar; Hulse, Haynes
subs Button, Taylor, Dervite, Waggy, Green BWP, Fuller Assume Stephens injured. No other reason for him not to be involved. Even less optimistic now. :-(
Stephens injured? Waggy on the bench! Have to say that looks a rather tepid midfield - Jonnson is no playmaker.
Convinced the match is going to be won by shackling Austin, like we shackled Rhodes twice last season. 2-0 to us.
