I drank ALOT last night, I'm legally over the limit for the next 48 hours, I don't think all my motor functions have returned yet. Stupid bourbon =/
Bruce said in the Sunday Mirror: "I would love to keep Jake if I could, so we'll have to see if there is a deal to be done. "But I'm sure Daniel Levy, the Tottenham chairman, will want the Humber Bridge and the receipts that go with it for him. Has someone bet Brucie how many times he can get a humber bridge quote in?
He's said he wants to come in previous interviews, so that wouldn't be an issue. Thing is, I think that £3.5m release clause was based on us staying up. If we try to buy him in January, we still aren't guaranteed safety so we'll obviously have to pay more. Hopefully there's a clause in Graham's loan contract that allows us to send him back in January.
I know at the moment the loan system is working to our advantage, but at a more macro level it is causing huge problems for the competition quality in the Premier League. Megga rich Clubs are now buying up the world's top talent and loaning them out to sides so that those sides can take points off their competition. Look at what Chelsea have done with Lukaku. He will almost single handedly take points of Chelsea's competition for the Premier League Title this season. The powers that be should change the rules so that players can only be loaned out to Clubs that are not in the same league.
scrapping the loan system altogether in the prem would probably be the best thing in the long run - that would discourage clubs signing young players too early .
But surely that limits the players growth? Lukaku going to Everton/West Brom doesn't only take points off of their competitors, it gives Lukaku the chance to play in the BPL against players he will be playing against for Chelsea.
The majority of them are players from overseas anyway, so I don't give a ****. Most of the British players are hived off to the Championship and below.
But you'd rather see the quality of the league lower than clubs loan to other clubs in the same division? Wilshere was loaned to Bolton, Welbeck loaned to Sunderland, Cleverley loaned to Wigan.
Mourinho is a clever sod loaning Lukaku to Everton, he doesn't expect Everton to be a title contender & knows the Belgian can take points off his rivals
With Brucey saying that he wants to buy Livermore in Jan and Moyes saying they're willing to offload Zaha on loan in Jan. You think there's a shot of us getting him?
