With major consequences for Lowestoft, hardly fair for them! http://www.pinkun.com/lowestoft-town/lowestoft_town_shocked_by_switch_to_conference_north_1_3637960
A very tricky situation indeed for Lowestoft. My nephew is one who ' never quite made it ' and now plays for a team in Conference South. He has a full time job and can only play at that level because of a sympathetic employer. Twice a week he starts and finishes early to get to training as he lives 40 miles away from the Club and everytime he has a midweek match away from home he is allowed to take a day or half day holiday even at short notice such as a cup replay. The money he gets from the Club is good but the inconvenience is high. I am sure that many Lowestoft players do not live in Lowestoft but signed accepting the travelling inconvenience of all the games in the South of the Country. The Northern league, however, is a far different matter. I doubt if there is another Club within 100 miles of Lowestoft and the travelling involved, even for Saturday away games, will be horrendous. Every midweek away game in cup or league will require a days holiday from work and I would imagine that several players, especially any married ones, will walk away as that is not what they signed up to.
