BULGARIA v WALES Competition - Nations League Date - 14 October 2020 Kick off - 7.45pm Venue - Natsionalen Stadion Vasil Levski, Sofia Following their 0-0 ‘bore draw’ against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin, next up for Ryan Giggs’ Wales is a tricky looking away match in Sofia. Last Sunday, the main talking point of an uninspiring first half in Dublin was a rejected penalty appeal for Wales after Ethan Ampadu was bundled over by Republic goalkeeper Darren Randolph. It was not until the 55th minute that either team produced a genuine chance, with the Republic's Shane Long wastefully heading over from close range. James McClean was sent off for the hosts after two yellow cards in quick succession towards the end of the game and, although Wales searched hopefully for a late winning goal, neither side really deserved to win an eminently forgettable encounter. Having won both their first two matches of this Nations League campaign, Wales remain top of Group B4 with a trip to Bulgaria to come on Wednesday. But they will be without Bristol City midfielder Joe Morrell and Cardiff City striker Kieffer Moore in Sofia - who had been a doubt for this game with a bruised toe - after the Cardiff target man picked up a yellow card to trigger a suspension. I think that Ryan Giggs’ men will return to Wales with a point from a 1-1 draw.
That was certainly the highlight I think I'll go with the consensus and opt for a draw. We're just lacking in firepower. -1 -1
But black lives matter....anyway Bulgaria away no super striker Moore or Ramsey or Brooks or Allen and so on....we will be lucky to get a draw especially with Mr boring Giggs in charge. Roll on Saturday
Great week ahead , grand child number 3 has a game Thursday night and grandchild number 6 a game Saturday morning then the Swans in the afternoon , and yes on my behalf social distancing will be strictly adhered to at all times.
Let’s hope that the Swans’ defence do not strictly adhere to social distancing .... although I’d be happy if Huddersfield’s did ....
Looks like most of those youngsters who played against England will be getting another cap earlier than they, and we, thought. Bulgaria is always a tough place to go and I can't see us coming back with anything from this. Paying the price for a non game v England and Giggs' negativity against a weak Ireland. 3 points on Sunday and tomorrow's result would not be so important.
We're playing catch up now and to be honest there was no need for the England game ,whey did it prove other than England have a bigger and better pool of players to call upon.
