I hope whomever gets the job next season builds the team around these players:

    De Gea
    Smalling
    Fosu-Mensah
    Shaw
    Martial
    Rasford

Are there other players that you think should make the grade?

I like Morgan as well and I would like to see Memphis given a second chance to prove himself. You don't become a bad player in one season.

Are you Woodward in disguise? :D

I really hope we can avoid spending ridiculous money this summer. It has failed horribly for two seasons in a row. Time to work with what we have with sensible additions where we are lacking.

Given that two of the players you've suggested (four if you count Memphis and Morgan) were signed with ridiculous money over the last two seasons, it seems a bit odd to suggest we will get another CB, CM and no 10 to make your 8 up to a full team, plus additional squad members, without spending a lot more money.

Personally I'd like us to keep Mata and Herrera in there as well, which leaves us only needing another CB and striker to make up a decent 1st XI, with Jones, Rojo, Blind, Carrick and Rooney adding some depth and experience. Still need to spend another £100m+ imo to secure a top class CB and striker who will be more than just one season wonders, and also replace the likes of Young, Schweinsteiger and Fellaini.

Signing Varane, Mahrez and Kane would probably be the ideal summer for us., tho I'd be surprised if Mahrez moved this year.

I would like to see a decent box to box MF player and maybe a decent winger

I think Daley blind is proving he can become a world class CB.. His partnership with Smalling has been crucial this season... A fully fit Jones as cover wi Rojo / mensah as 4th cover is strong IMO

Jury still out I think... I'd like to see him play as a CM in the future

The squad is pretty good already, three or four signings should make it a title challenging squad.

The huge disadvantage we have is a ****wit for a manager.

He plays Ashley Young as a striker. What a ****wit.

The most crucial decision is definitely the manager. He has to go.

We could yet finish fourth, although realistically fifth is the best bet, and all the stats heads who don't really get what they are supposed to be watching would look at that in isolation and deem it a success.

Then you look at how the likes of Leicester, City, Liverpool play, with pace and incision, and you are reminded that what van Gaal is churning out is complete and utter dog ****.

If we add a centre half so that Smalling can finally forge a partnership (Blind can become the DM as both Carrick and Schweinsteiger should really be peripheral next season), a right back of genuine quality, a right winger with pace who can score (can't think who!!!) and a centre forward who is the finished article, to the squad we have then it should challenge for the league and in Europe.

It'll cost a few bob but there you go, that's life eh?

We'll then have two decent players in all positions, loads of youth coming through busting to get a game and pace up front and from both flanks. No one really has to leave either, the time will come for the likes of Rashford, Lingard, Fosu-Mensa & Borthwick Jackson, to mention the best of the bunch.

There's also room for a not too swift No.10 as long as those around him are played in their favoured position and have pace themselves.

The biggest change though has to be the ****ing philosophy.

Chief would do better than Van Gaal to be honest!

First things first. Remove Van Gaal. Because anything you do/buy with him in charge is ****ed.

At this stage I honestly think Matth would do better than Van Gaal.

Just think of the passion he would generate, standing there in the dugout frantically scratching his head and giving both middle fingers to the opposition manager. Although unfortunately I don't think he could fit managing the team into his busy YouTube schedule.

He'd confuse the opposition by miming to Justin Bieber's latest hit.

Another benefit to the move. If there's one thing the PL has lost in recent years it's this:

Had we got rid of Van Gaal during that horrendous run in December and brought in Mourhino, I find it hard to believe he wouldnt have got us 5 more points by this point.
