Now this is not directed towards the lad McCarthy who I will welcome to Portman Road wholeheartedly.. YES we want a youthful team but why are we giving experience to another club's asset when we have our own youngsters on our books? This lad has just signed a five year deal at Reading!!! This is ANOTHER short sighted, short term fix. We will not be any further forward as a club at the end of it. USELESS decision making!
I agree Yorkie This is what is wrong with this football club. Insanity is to keep doing the same things and expect a different outcome! We should have learnt from the Norwich experience when they relied on too many short term loans before they got relegated. Luckily for them they stumbled upon a brilliant manager who got them promoted and the rest as they say is history.... ! Is the great master plan to get relegated like they did and to then to find our knight in shining armour? For every Lambert that you find there is a Keane and a Jewell! IF we get relegated which now seems more and more likely as each game passes, I just can not see that our owner and CEO would have a clue in how to get us back up again. No disrepects to any teams in League 1 but it is a god awful hell hole of a division and we would be seen as the big fish that every team would try harder to beat! You need hardworking and fully committed players to succeed in that league along with a smattering of quality. We haven't got that and I don't believe for one moment that Clegg would be able to recruit a manager that could deliver this. I really hope that this is just a nightmare that we will wake up from before its too late but the way we are going League 1 is where we're headed.
Why have we brought someone else in really? Not many rate ALB but he hasn't done a great deal wrong and has looked solid recently, unless we are looking to sign McCarthy which I highly doubt we are then we should stick with ALB and have good old Richard Wright as back up and use this possible loan position to bring in someone who can impact the team outfield, with a lot of pace for example
