Hull City Council has had a very positive meeting with Assem and Ehab Allam in relation to a number of areas of shared concern and has made good progress in resolving them to the mutual satisfaction of both parties. Hull City Council Leader, Cllr Stephen Brady said: “We had a very good discussion about some well publicised issues, relations between the Superstadium Management Company and its owners and the Council, and our clear shared desire to redevelop a good relationship focused on the continuing success of our city. This relationship is an important one for the city and I am pleased that we will now be able to build on it in a positive way. Whilst some issues will take time to resolve, there is a clear commitment from both sides to doing so and rebuilding our working relationship, with initial steps having already been taken in that regard.” Assem Allam said: “Our meeting with the Leader of the Council, Cllr Stephen Brady, Cllr Daren Hale and Chief Executive, Matt Jukes, was a very positive one. We are optimistic that the constructive discussions taking place between us will continue which will help to re-establish a more positive working relationship between the parties. That in turn will hopefully enable us to work together to, if possible, find solutions to any points upon which we have our differences. Indeed, as a gesture of goodwill and in the spirit of increased co-operation between the parties, we have informed Hull City Council that the Superstadium Management Company have made arrangements to re-erect upon the West Stand of the KCom Stadium the Hull City Council sign which was removed in October 2017, and will also shortly be reinstating a bronze plaque at the West Stand Entrance to the KCom Stadium.” please log in to view this image
Once again they've done **** all to move forward only appeased a few people. Actions speak louder than words. Putting the signs, which they shouldn't have taken down back in place is not moving forward.
1. the allams will take no further action on any of the above. 2. they will soon (on a thursday before a big game, perhaps the leeds one) issue a statement containing their account of the meeting. it will totall contradict what they said and what the councillors said.
This is the only reason they were taken down, so they can be used as a token gesture to enact the next stage of their strategy. The council must realise this and are happy to applaud it to move their aims forward. Unfortunately it’s the way of it...
