Apparently if we'd have stuck with the same manager and built since 1997 we might have had more success than just the: 3 Prems 5 FA Cups 1 Cup Winners Cup 1 Super Cup 3 League Cups (Wouldn't mention but Liverpool say it's big) We could be more like Everton if we'd back the manager. Damn you Bates and RA
Without Bates-we wouldnt exist, and without RA we wouldn't be one of the world's great clubs! Like you , I have question marks over the hiring and firing of our managers, but who are we to scorn the man who has given us so much!
I wish all these commentators and experts telling us that stability is the key to success would give one example other than SAF of this because for damn sure it is not Moyes who has averaged a lower league position with Everton in the last 10 years than they've averaged in the 30 years before. If that is what stability brings you then you can stick it where the sun don't shine.
Hard to argue with your statistics, but two questions need to be asked. 1. If you stick with the RIGHT manager, would you achieve more? For instance Jose. Look at his record after he was flicked by RA. All those titles he won, could have been ours. 2. How much does it cost ?? Had Jose stayed, I suspect hugely less than we have pissed away. So , get the RIGHT man. Stick with him. More trophies, less cost ?? I don't know, and at Chelsea, we will never get the chance to know.
You forgot MH's part in the revolution mate! I would just like to mention also how disappointed I am in not having had the chance to win (or at least compete for) the coverted Emirates trophy. You know the one, it's the comp where 4 teams are involved but you only play two of them & you win it by having the best average. Arsenil tent to make it more difficult for the others by playing the weaker two teams and they still can't win it so it must be tough!
