I'm thinking of following Buddhism, I'm agnostic at the moment and have never come across a religion that made sense, it all seemed to be about faith, suffering and death. Early days yet as I don't know much about it other than some basic things I've read. Like this.... Buddha explained that all our problems and suffering arise from confused and negative states of mind, and that all our happiness and good fortune arise from peaceful and positive states of mind. He taught methods for gradually overcoming our negative minds such as anger, jealousy and ignorance, and developing our positive minds such as love, compassion and wisdom. Through this we can come to experience lasting peace and happiness. So whats the down side of Buddhism as told by the people of the GC?
I'm sure these good people will find the parts of this religion that I may have missed, it can't all be good.
Jesus! ****! shouldn't have typed that with my new way of life and all that. Why bring that up again, you lot are sad, it was a perfectly reasonable thread and you just turn it into taking the piss out of dead people.
Hi! Haven't you seen my posts? I missed you, not as much as Toby but I missed you. You make me laugh.
There is nothing to be gained from religion, that can't be obtained from a few decent counselling sessions.
