Fans on Board Forum Update – Monday 18th March

    Hi

Following our recent Board meeting and, what’s been a highly exciting time watching Bristol Rovers FC, it gives me pleasure to update you on answers to several of your recent questions regarding our football club.

    1. New Stadium:

Everyone is obviously delighted to hear the news re: Eric Pickles office last week. And, although there are still one or two pieces of work currently being completed, such as the Sainsbury Section 106, everything looks set so we can begin building in the summer.

For this reason, please keep your suggestions coming in for the new stadium to [email protected] Over the coming weeks and months, the Chairman will keep you updated on developments. I shall also be informing you shortly, on how the Bristol Rovers Supporters Club will be asking for your support to help us raise funds for the new supporter’s club facility at the new ground.

    2. Webcam at the New Stadium

Many supporters have asked if there will be a webcam for fans to watch the development of the ground as it develops. I am delighted to say yes there will be one linked to our website. Further details will be issued as we move along with the project.

    3. PA Blackthorn End:

I appreciate fans in certain parts of the Blackthorn End have recently had problems hearing messages on the PA system. We have had a look at this and I’m sorry if there are still problems. Discussions are taking place as to how to deal with this matter further, but if any work of significance is required then this may have to wait until the end of the season.

    4. Merchandising:

I’m delighted to inform you that following your request, Iphone 4 and 5 cases are now on sale in the club shop.
One or two fans asked why stocks were low in the club shop. As you will appreciate with the season coming to a close, stocks are normally lower at this time of the year. However, Steve Burns has already met with a couple of reps, so the shops will be freshened up over the next few weeks with some new ideas. Once the new stadium opens, there will a massive club shop there, with tremendous opportunities to purchase all sorts of exciting items.

    5. Season Tickets:

Thank you to those supporters who have already purchased season tickets for next season. Prices are the same offer as last season and we offer one of the most competitive prices in the league. We will continue to do all we can to ensure we offer incentives such as the ‘kids for a quid’ in what is a very difficult economic climate.

    6. Fun Day:

No date has been set for this yet, but it will return to a Sunday. We need to have the pre-season friendlies finalised first and have the new shirts in stock. It is normally held the last Sunday before the schools break up, but it maybe in late July.
Best wishes and thank you for your ongoing support!

    UTG
