I agree it really is starting to turn around after years of neglect and all credit to Klug in developing the next generation of talented local footballers who will one day wear the blue and white. Interesting to note that we are picking up most of the young players in East Anglia as opposed to them up the road who are targeting London based players with their money,

We are the true Pride of Anglia unlike the spivs up the road.

The thing that I find most interesting was how they are continuely changing the rules, if a club for instance say Norwich don't keep up because they don't go up could have drastic effect on their ability to attract the local lads previously ignored.

swings and roundabouts. give me local lads who give a **** about the club then some outsiders who will piss off at the drop of an extra tenner.

We are recruiting a lot of youngsters in and around Cambridge the most high profile of these being Teddy Bishop who comes from Cherry Hinton. There are plenty of unpolished Gems out there and I applaud the fact that we are actively going out into the local communities and tracking them down. This is one of the ways in which Bobby made our club great and for a club on modest means it seems entirely sensible that we actively recruit youngsters in.

Look at the last time we had any real success-it was based on a team containing a spine of local lads,Wright,Dyer,Scowcroft etc.

One of Roy Keane's biggest mistakes, and he made a fair few, was getting rid of Bryan Klug. An optimistic interview and hopefully Category One can be achieved because it's absolutely crucial if we want to continue developing our own youngsters. There's nothing more depressing than getting the train back from work in Diss and seeing a bunch of kids in Norwich City kit sitting in one the carriages and getting off at Stowmarket, Ipswich, and other nearby stops. We should be looking at developing local talent, and it's always been a philosophy of the club's.

I know where you're coming from Nuggets (and I can't really believe I'm saying this )but I find local kids wearing Budgie garb slightly less depressing than glory hunters in Chelsea or Man U kit.Still be better if it was Town blue though.
