was just thinking do you think bruce is going to try and go down the rotational system route like man u? obviously with players that are know were near man u standards, just using them as an exaple. i mean if were going to play 4411 which seems to be his fav formation, then you have possilbly 4 strikers fighting for that one possition. (gyan, wickham, won and campbell when fit) same goes for the spot behind the striker 3 players fighting for one spot (sess, steed and rico) same for midfield and defence really, i dont think its a bad idea as you play the inform players, but do you think everyone will be happy to sit out a good few games in a season??? anyway off to the game tomorrow so here's hoping for a cracking game and a victory for the lads! says on safc.com that over 30,000 tickets have been sold so should be a great atmosphere..
I don't think it's rotation he has in mind Smithy. He's making sure he has enough players to cover the inevitable injuries
aye ya might be right there mate, i just cant think what team he is gona go with it was easy last year the team picked itself but this year?? Cheers for the input as no one else seems interested haha
You're right when you say it's more difficult to guess who will start. There will be rotations in some positions, mainly in the central midfield roles and on the right wing. I think Steve Bruce will be looking to establish a settled back 4, but it will be difficult to achieve when many of our defenders are prone to the odd injury. I have to say that I'm a little concerned about the cup games again. He is bound to put out a second string in an attempt to keep everyone happy.
well i seen them on sunday and defence was awfull o'shea got caught out a few times but apart from him it was the same back 4 as last year and that didnt do to well at the back end of the year!! To be honest i think ferdinand was the best when he came on, lets just hope that was because there a bit rusty.. Will let you know how they look tomorrow!!
I just feel that he just doesn't want to get bitten on the arse like last season. I think our squad was to thin in numbers last season and Bruce has addressed that problem.
He's getting numbers in to cover, don't think he has a clue who his first X1 is yet. Think we may have a stronger overall squad at the moment, but not a stronger starting X1 than what started last season.
