At least he admits he got it all wrong last night. I was surprised/disappointed it took him 30 minutes to realise it though! Even then it still didn't work. Thorne playing in front of their back four had a field day. Hopefully Brucey also realised last night that we have no recognised cover at left wing back for Robbo, its been glaringly obvious all season apart from when Brucey has played 3 at the back. It's remarkable we are where we are given that according to Brucey and some of the players we have never really hit the heights performance wise as yet; how long does it take we are a third into the season? So far so good, but last night was awful!

He was mental last night, three regular players out and he switches three players into positions they don't normally play in. It was a total mess what was he thinking?

What was he thinking you ask ? Duff beer or a chocolate village maybe ,certainly not football last night I wager as smoke came out his ears yet again writing the team sheet down. For the last time, and despite this so called run of form,Bruce is a decent manager at this level yes,but he is hopeless with money, tactically naive and could not spot a decent striker at Barcelona. For what its worth now,Bruce should of been sacked the day he took the club down and arguably would have been any other club apart from City,he may well yet take us back up,but with the talent he currently has at his disposal,Dolan or Hateley would probably do the same.

    In Bruce YOU trust.

We had a winning formula. Bruce should be trying to stick to that as closely as possible. Making a load of unnecessary positional changes is up there with slagging off individual players in public as something basic that a manager shouldn't do.

Maybe a tad ambitious, but aye, I agree with your point.

It's all well and good him saying "In hindsight, I got it wrong", but it doesn't make the defeat last night any more palletable. We know he got it wrong, the proof is in the result and the performance, so why didn't he make changes at half time after a woeful 45 minutes?

Indeed so. He had the right starting 11 just not all in the right places. It unsettled the team and gave respect to Tom Ince that he did not deserve.

At least SB is man enough to admit he got it wrong at the start. All managers get it wrong from time to time.

Good to hear that Steve Bruce will rotate the squad and start the same players (as is possible to) that did so well to beat Leicester. But yes square pegs in square holes for sure. <laugh>

when Brucie says he's going to rotate the squad, he means he's picking the same players but putting them in different positions - apparently it works out right every so often
