By all accounts he's almost quitting, apparently AA is trying desperately to keep him. This is why the transfers aren't moving.
How 'on the verge' is this then? Would we be hearing something in the next day or two? If he leaves it'll be catastrophic, I could see a few players wanting out.
Don't know, only rumours from the other side of deals. If nothing goes through over the weekend I expect SB to have walked.
If there's any truth in this it's hardly surprising. Brazil and Quinny have just been discussing who's coming down with us
Rather than quit, if I was Bruce I'd be tempted to take things into my own hands. A Ku De Ta led by him might be the only way to remove The Allams now.
AA and Steve Bruce do not get on well at all. The stuff you see in the media is all smoke and mirrors.
Well Steve Bruce has to be some kind if idiot if thats the case. He's cash rich and could just sit and wait for the next 'big' job to become available and yet he's deciding to stay... for who...?.... as much as I hate his football coaching and management prowess personally, he patently doesn't have two brain cells. Even his detractors would accept him walking at this point as would every other football supporter of every other club if they understood the facts.
He needs to make his mind up soon because he's either giving himself a severe disadvantage by disrupting his signings and pre-season preparations or he's royally ****ing us over by not quitting months ago to allow the new manager an entire pre-season to get his squad ready.
Well he hasnt. He thought a sale would go through, if it had he wouldnt be quitting. If you're looking to blame someone then you're looking in the wrong direction.
Completely disagree I'm afraid, he considered quitting before the proposed sale and certainly wouldn't be here had we not got promoted, his hearts not in it anymore and he's only here because he hasn't yet had a better offer. The sale of the club might have convinced him to stay but you don't stay in the job because you might be getting a new boss, you stay if you're passionate about what you're doing and want to succeed.
Of course he's lost his mojo, how can he not have? Every single week for the past 3 years he's had to deal with the fallout from the owners of the club. On top of that, he's now being (as widely accepted) handed a derisory transfer budget that wont let him do his job and the chance of changing all this has just been taken away. How can he be expected to be passionate about it as an employee when our lifelong fans have never been so dispassionate about it?
He's paid to assemble the best team he can with whats available, he's been given larger transfer budgets before, wasted a lot of money and got us relegated. I'm sure Sean Dyche and Eddie Howe aren't on the verge of quitting because they can't spend what they want. I agree the Allams haven't made life easy for him but if he really wanted to be here and work for this team then he'd be professional and get on with it. Despite all the stupid sideshows he has to put up with he has complete control over the team and a free say in transfers which is more than a lot of managers. He's not a fan, he's a professional, this isn't a hobby or pastime for him like it is for us fans its his career, livelihood and reputation, sometimes in life you have to work with difficult people.
I'm sure Steve Bruce wouldnt be on the verge of quitting if the only problem was his transfer budget. I clearly mentioned that as an 'on top of' element and you've conveniently just ignored everything else that has gone on for 3 years.
