Steve Bruce: former Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has made a couple of fans’ dreams come true by handing over a pair of tickets for this weekend’s Capital One Cup final.

The Hull City manager was given two tickets by his current employers for this weekend’s show-piece event at Wembley.

But he sent the tickets up to Wearside with a request they be given to Sunderland fans desperate to go.

Don't think anyone ever thought he was a bad bloke to be fair, and this is a nice touch.

    Nice touch by him

However is this because he knows after the way he has went on about the club he would receive abuse for it?

Isn't Sunderland closer to Newcastle than Corbridge? I'm asking even though I know it is :p He's less Geordie than anyone from Sunderland.

Never minded him to be honest. Became the butt of the joke in recent years but he's brought it on himself. Generally a nice bloke with limited managerial ability for me.

So sick of hearing about Bruce. It's an unhealthy and bitter relationship that runs both ways.

well he's hardly going to go to the game. If it was the Mags playing and I had two tickets, I'd give it to the Mags I know without making a song and dance about it.

Fair play to the guy. Don't know how it got into the public domain, it didn't need to, but never mind, good deed done.

Bent, Gyan, Welbeck……..he didn't ask them to leave, bloke was unlucky looking back. I enjoyed the 3-0 at Chelski.

wrong, you tend to only remember the good things 3-0 at the bridge was brilliant, but there were more bad times
